Extraordinary.
In a world where everyone develops a power on their 18th birthday, Jen didn't. She's turning 25 and is still waiting to get hers. Adrift in a big, confusing world and armed with nothing but a bit of hope and a lot of desperation, Jen begins her journey to find her maybe-superpower. But in doing so, she might discover the joy of being just kind of ok. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdtyxmTRABs A great light hearted comedy series with some weird and whacky characters, a huge shout out to Angela the young shop keeper, for one so young she showed us that age is no barrier to talent. If this show doesn't make you laugh then you're already too far gone in the head to appreciate anything. TV Series Rating 7\10 https://www.itv.com/watch/extraordin...1/10a5131a0001 |
Fallout
In a future, post-apocalyptic Los Angeles brought about by nuclear decimation, citizens must live in underground bunkers to protect themselves from radiation, mutants and bandits. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-mugKDQDlg Skybirds Review "Oh man, that Fallout series is good, really good! They nailed all the typical details and features that characterise the game, and the looks are incredibly close to the game's world. Watched the first three (of eight) episodes, and fully enjoyed what I saw, giggled, and laughed. The humour is black and sometimes tough, the gore is so very much over the top that only a fool would take serious offence from it, and the absurdity of so many scenes and situations from the game is transported almost on a 1:1 basis, by which I mean they did not copy the same jokes and situation comedy, but they inhaled and then breathed out the spirit everything in Fallout breathes. Very good adaptation! They nailed it." Well, I never played the game so I won't comment on it but, I have watched all eight episodes of the TV Series and I can say without any bias that it totally rocked my boat, yeah, and Lucy "Ella Purnell" rocked it as well. The outstanding character of the series was The Ghoul "Walton Goggins", I'm surmising with that ending that there's going to be a 2nd series and maybe even a 3rd, if they keep to the same format I cant see why it won't keep the rating that I've given it. Overall Rating 8.5\10 This series just beats "The Last Of Us" to gain my Top Spot Award, The Ghouls interactions with the naive Lucy made my day. |

One of those games I've started - loved - then put aside to enjoy more fully when I have time. But I had no idea it had been made as a show until very recently - I only see TV occasionally nowadays. It looks great

^ My internet connection is very poor today: your post about 'Blue Lights' hadn't loaded - so I was in fact talking about 'Fallout' :)
Blue Lights certainly looks like a winner too |

Red Eye
Episode 1 - In "Red Eye" London police officer DC Hana Li is escorting Dr Matthew Nolan back to Beijing where he has been accused of a crime. However, on board flight 357, she finds herself embroiled in an escalating conspiracy and a growing number of murders. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxDrJMrF2rM Woohoo a whodunnit, what a little gem this series is turning out to be, I'm 3 episodes and its got me hooked, no flashy graphics, just a plain old whodunnit, and plane is the operative word here, because most of it so far is onboard a plane. The detective who's escorting the prisoner "Dr Nolan" back to China soon finds out that this is more than an escort job, if you have an IQ of 85 or less I'd give this a miss, for anyone else it's time to put your Miss Marple head on. Update I've binge watched the last 3 episodes and this 6 part series was gripping stuff, there were twists and turns to this up until the very end. Its not very often that I'm impressed with British TV but I am with this series. It was great stuff ITV and my rating reflects that. Series Rating 7.5\10 |

"Hercules - The Legendary Journeys". Late 90s long running series. Great imaginative scripts, funny dialog, talented actors, beautiful women, monsters, Gods, and a spinoff long running series - "Xena - Warrior Princess". :) |
Cougar Town.
Jules Cobb is a mom in her forties facing the often humorous challenges, pitfalls and rewards of life's next chapter. Along for the journey is her son, her ex-husband, her husband/neighbor and her friends who together make up her dysfunctional, but supportive and caring extended family... even if they have a funny way of showing it sometimes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkIQE_HlIqM It's an American TV comedy series, it's light on laughs and the canned laughter has me grinding my teeth but it has Courtney Cox in it and that's good enough for me. If this is what they call comedy over the pond it's no wonder that they have so many shrinks making millions of dollars out of the braindead fools. I'm on series 1 episode 8 and there hasn't been anything much to write home about as yet, but, there was one memorable scene in episode 1, no, no, I'm not going to tell you what it was, but, I should have stopped watching it then and there and claimed a win but the Courtney effect kicked in, I think I'll give that scene another look by the way. :haha: TV Series Rating, 5\10. |

Brassic (2019 )
A group of working-class friends finding unconventional ways to win at life in northern suburbia. These lads have dealt, scammed, bribed and conned their way through adolescence, but now, on the brink of adulthood, their dealing and stealing is catching up with them and a whole load of trouble is heading their way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtbEWBIPOEk Brassic is a very good comedy drama, this could be a classic that rivals the UK version of "Shameless", that's if the writers can keep this level up. The actors all played their part well, and the storyline, although not the best was enough to keep me watching it. I've only watched the first episode and it's got my nod of approval, there's some swearing in this series, so it's best if there's no children about if you do decide to watch it. First Episode Rating. 7.3\10 |
