Would you like some jelly baby?

Um...Baker wasn't actually in 'The Five Doctors'. They used a couple of clips from 'Shada', but he refused to be in it.

I know, but it still sort of counts. I mean, he was technically in it through those clips.

Sailor Steve 04-06-13 09:19 PM

Well, they did also use a clip of William Hartnell from 'The Dalek Invasion Of Earth', nineteen years earlier, so I guess you're right.

Well, the last episode was pretty good. I've never seen so many alien species in one episode before! But the next episode... Ice Warriors on a Russian boomer? If they don't call it Cold War, I'll be extremely surprised!

Come on now, it's easy to 'guess' when you have google :)

3309. Cold War
234 130413 by Mark Gatiss
One by one submarine crew are dying in mysterious, cold, circumstances. The Doctor realises that a great intelligence is involved but this time he's not using snowmen or yeti. It's the return of the Ice Warriors for us but it is actually a prequel, just like Snowmen was a prequel to the Abominable Snowmen.
Will one of the Ice Warriors become frozen to be found in the future in the Patrick Troughton episode - The Ice Warriors?
BBC Blurb:
The Doctor and Clara land on a damaged Russian Submarine in 1983 as it spirals out of control into the ocean depths. An alien creature is loose on board, having escaped from a block of Arctic ice. With tempers flaring and a cargo of nuclear weapons on board, it’s not just the crew but the whole of humanity at stake!

Not if you want to avoid spoilers! :stare:

Better episode for me this week even if it was only one Ice Warrior.

Why is it Russian Jr officers always for to hit the big red button and blow the world up? :hmmm:

So is next weeks a ghost or witch one? :hmm2:

Could be either or a bit of both:

Clara and the Doctor arrive at Caliburn House, a haunted mansion sat alone on a desolate moor. Within its walls, a ghost hunting Professor and a gifted psychic are searching for the Witch of the Well. Her apparition appears throughout the history of the building, but is she really a ghost? And what is chasing her?

So, is there a mod where I can upgrade the SH III crew to cybermen?

:yep:

Not to mention that the big flashing orange lights reminded me of Alien.

BossMark 04-15-13 02:54 AM

Watched all 3 back to back last night they want too bad.

Oberon 04-15-13 02:17 PM

Not a bad episode, I like the Ice Warrior design, and the ending wasn't as rushed as some, certainly better than last weeks episode in my view.
A few holes to pick in it from a Subsim point of view (Lateral thrusters? Closest thing I can think of is the station keeping motors :hmmm:) but otherwise all good.

Has there ever been a film or program where the Zampolit has not been an overzealous zealot? :haha:

Jimbuna 04-15-13 02:36 PM

Yes....Mary Poppins :)

Rhodes 04-21-13 06:27 AM

Great episode imo, possible the best one yet! If he had said "Oh my giddy aunt" I definitely thought that I was seen the 2nd Doctor!

That nikons F, great cameras, it could resist the enormous heat of the dawn and end of Earth! And the film to...

Curious also for next episode!

Jimbuna 04-21-13 07:26 AM

Yes, possibly the best one so far.

STEED 04-21-13 07:31 AM

Without giving away the story line to those of you across the pond this episode was written by the same person who did the one a couple a weeks ago with all that singing, better one from this writer this week.

BTW: Love the tribute to Nigel Kneale story The Stone Tape in the first half, anyone else pick up on it?

Screaming ghost
House used by the American's in WW2
Right down to the cans of Spam

As said can't say anymore as there is more to this one than just a ghost story.
