That's right, 4.5 here, at night I can see the reflections much sooner than I see the ship... it's a little weird.

Paajtor 05-25-08 02:01 PM

Perhaps it's not supposed to be the ship's reflection, but the extending bow-wave?
Especially in tropical waters, this can light up.

Looks like a re-appearance of a problem that we were struggling with on ROW before Dave died. We traded some PMs and tried several things, removing a bunch of files and stuff, but never really got it sorted. Sorry to see it's still around, as it was a real immersion killer for me.

I haven't done any night/ship testing since then, so I'm not sure if it ever got sorted with any of the later ROW/PE work. Hopefully someone will be able to figure this out.

Color in this strange collision of colors, so I am very disgusted.

Paajtor 05-26-08 01:20 AM

The picture is only 18KB, I guess that's why the colours are so strange.:)

Hi my friend, maybe if we knew what ships caused the reflection problem, we can take a look at it?

@Forest which Ship is it on the picture? - I can examine this when I come home today.

Hi kriller2.
It seems to be all the ships, including submarines.

Why would anyone need this when there's ROW?????? :o :o

DrBeast 05-27-08 08:34 AM

Always good to have alternatives and choices :yep:

Yes, something for everybody, I have been using W_Clears work since his first release. Its very well done plus Kriller2 and W_Clear collaborate, troubleshoot on many issues together. Well done! We appreciate your hard work.

Snaptrap, I would think you, of all people, would understand that just because a mod is a so-called 'smaller' mod does not mean it is not necessary- especially after your rant in your SilentFire mod about not being appreciated. Strange that one who felt like his work went unappreciated and didn't find it a pleasant experience would come here and say something like that.:nope:

As for me, I have, and will continue to use EE until Kriller and W_clear get their super environment mod out, simply because I find it a better, more realistic experience.

Keep up the good work, W_clear, and you'll always have my support.

Is that not the bow wave and the wather whiped up by the propeller ??

If it is then should that not be as such due to the florucent stuff in the water?

Snaptrap 05-27-08 12:54 PM

Sorry about my recent comment. I guess with all the critisism I've received from from my art to my mods, it finally built up to the point where you explode.

A man can only take so much before becoming something else.

No, that is the reflection of the ship. The bow waves are separately visible when a ship is moving at speed, and are quite prominent at night, but that is a particle effect that is not related to reflections.

Is kriller2 in charge of the EE mod now? :D
