Yeah, okay, I'm a closet nerd too.

Mass Effect is incredible. Mass Effect 2 built upon that awesome formula, and in a ballsy way, redefined the very series.

But seriously, what I found to be the most intriguing feature is the way that decisions I made *LITERALLY* years ago affected time and again in both major and minor ways. There were so many "Oh yeah, I *do* remember that!" moments, I can hardly count.

One of these days, when I'm finally bored with Battlefield Bad Co. 2, I'll start the saga anew.

My one gripe. Its too short, even with the planet scanning bull you have to go through to get minerals.

Not a criticism on your comment, but just a thought: aren't all great experiences too short, when you come right down to it? :know:

My thoughts exactly. :yep:

Yes, but be prepared to references of the first game a lot. at least thats what I've been told

I got Mass effect 1 recently, and I'm enjoying it a lot...I'm playing it at a step at the time instead of rushing into quests but heck...does my tasks pile up....after every quest I completed and plan to the next I get a transmission from the council or whoever out there....and I feel the urge to ignore the incomming calls or when its forces just to act as a jerk towards them.:haha:

The ME series is one whole story, you know, think of the LOTR trilogy for example. Like Hunter said, you can play the game without having played ME1, but you're missing the whole point then. ME1 shouldn't cost that much anymore so I'd suggest you get it and only after that get ME2 (and then ME3 when it comes out :O:).

HunterICX 03-21-10 11:55 AM

just completed ME 1, talk about one epic ending :o

Right, now go find ME2, before you forget what all happened in ME1. :DL

Fnished my Renegade run through ME1. Good fun, by the end of the game I felt untouchable as a vanguard.

Can't wait to see some of the options I skipped as a Paragon during my first run.

'lo chaps.

I haven't read the thread, but I just popped in to say: OMFG!

I have not been this obsessed with a game since... well... ever!?

In 20 years of gaming I've never seen anything quite like it. I'm not normally one for fanboy gushing but ****ing fricken heck this game is awesome. Mass Effect 3 in 2011? How the hell am I meant to wait that long? :wah:

I do have one complaint. WTF happened to Liara!? I'm all for character progression but this was more like character rewrite! And apart from one awkward kiss she acted all cold. I thought she lurved me.

I forgot how much the ME dialogues made me laugh. Marvelous Bioware humour, as always.:rotfl2:

Damn, I missed that one! But yeah, there are some laugh out loud lines in the game, and really well delivered too. It's great to see a game company who can get humour right (not to mention drama).

I just couldn't buy it. Even on my "buy everything" playthrough. Even then I couldn't bring myself to buy it. It's the description. It says looks up at you with what seems like a knowing smile. Urgh!
