Okay, these are relatively snowy photos taken in Poland back in October (In quite a few places whose long, complicated names I don't even bother trying to remember, though the first one was probably somewhere in the vicinity of Radom). Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of the nastiest snow, because I happened to be wearing nothing thicker than a paper-thin rainjacket at the time and running around like that for about 4 hours in the ~-5-0 degrees C tempratures and completely soaking in the snow didn't leave me many chances to snap pictures (Can't say it wasn't fun though :O:).

I like that last pic Raptor :yeah: I tried to get a picture of one of the crows in the church tower flying out but moved instinctively as I took the shot and epic blur. :damn: I live and learn :haha:

And Papa Smurf, you've got quite the covering there. I dread to think how the local amenities are holding up, I should imagine the local stores are empty, the buses have failed and the trains are running about three days late, if at all.
Aaah, every year we get it, and every year we fail epically. :har:

Well guess what, the snow just kept pouring down!

Gonna put up pics later...

It not that bad, but we'll see if things are running normally tomorrow. Thats the trouble with this country, the slightest bit of snow and everything grinds to a halt:nope:

At the dog park today, my two dogs were giving me their impression of a submarine. They were deliberately tunneling under the snow and then erupting from depths (2+ feet) of white hell and broaching the surface like "Big D" in Hunt for Red October. These are two black Labs about 70 pounds. They were playing like puppies. :woot:

Have not seen dogs take that much enjoyment out of snow in a long time. It was one of those times I wished I had a video camera!!!

Looks like you got the storm that hit me August. The official total for my area was 22.5 inches. My wife and I were out in it today for some shopping. We went to Game Stop to pick up a PS3 and the poor folks had to work until midnight because they lost an entire day yesterday for Christmas sales. What a crock for the poor saps who had to stay until midnight.

Wow, we don't even get so much in a storm! Your public services must be overwhelmed... how was the driving?

HAAAA :har:
That was a good one.
No, seriously, most of us live approximately where our parents put us into the world. Would many of us really move away because of the weather?

I like the snow, in wintertime. The frost, ice and snow kill a lot of the bugs, which otherwise will be like the plaigue in summer time. And besides, it can be very beautiful. So far, I have liked to see all your snow photos from around the Northern Earth. I am however very impressed with some of the quantities of Canada. :o

Here's my bird bath, w/a yardstick pushed in for reference (sorry, not metric):

Here's a park very close to my home:

Here's a bench in that park:

So, does anyone think I should have resized?

Méo 12-21-09 11:45 AM

I was just kidding when I replied to Tarjak. :DL

I don't know about Europe, but here it's a reality, they call them Snowbirds. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowbird_%28people%29

I wouldn't do it every year, but just take one break from winter would be really cool.
