A completely different view at the White House slaughter, and none I necessarily share. But who knows, maybe I get positively suprised. I would love to be shown wrong.

If the following is true, then who was embarrassing whom here? [FOCUS] Explosive report: Selenskyj is said to have ignored Trump's style request The US side in the White House had repeatedly taken exception to Selenskyj's clothing. According to reports, Trump's team had demanded a suit as a fashion concession to negotiations. The US media outlet "The Atlantic" speculated about an "ambush" after the publicly escalated scandal between Volodymyr Selenskyj and Donald Trump. Trump and his vice president J.D. Vance had planned the escalation. But reports from the news portal "Axios" suggest that Selenskyj may have anticipated the escalation, if not planned it. This concerns the clothing of the president, who has only appeared in sports and military gear since the Russian attack on his country. He demonstratively took off his suit. According to the report by Axios, the US administration had demanded that Zelensky and his delegation do exactly that before the press conference: that they appear in a suit to demonstratively herald the start of negotiations and the end of the war. According to a member of the delegation, this request was officially communicated via the embassy. Zelensky apparently deliberately refused to do this. As always, he appeared in a uniform-like sweater with the Ukrainian national symbol. Later in the meeting, he explicitly justified this with the state of war in which his country still finds itself. The fashion statement also apparently caught Trump's attention immediately, because his first sentence when Zelensky arrived was: "Wow, you've dressed up," said the US president. According to US advisers quoted by Axios, the apparently friendly formulation concealed annoyance. The aim of Trump's team was therefore to force concessions from Zelenskyj in terms of clothing, to break with the choreography of previous American-Ukrainian meetings and thereby present themselves as diplomats and peacemakers. This would also explain why reporter Brian Glenn once again explicitly took exception to the lack of a suit and, to the laughter of J.D. Vance, asked Zelenskyj: "Why aren't you wearing a suit? Do you have a suit?". He replied: "I will wear one (suit, note) when this war is over. Maybe something like yours. Maybe something better, maybe something cheaper." The "Axios" report suggests that Zelenskyj and his team had consciously decided not to bow to American demands before the talks began. Potential for conflict probably factored into fashionable gesture This is apparently intended to underline the central Ukrainian position that Trump's idea of a negotiated peace with Russia is unrealistic and that the state of war will continue. The potential for conflict contained in the fashionable gesture was probably factored in accordingly. Zelensky was probably not as surprised by the escalation as it seemed at times. It is obvious that the fashionable statement outraged the Trump side so much because it emphasizes the independence of the Ukrainian side, which apparently knows its strength in the negotiations. Ukraine is still deciding whether to continue fighting or not. The scandal not only further strengthened European support for Kyiv, but it is also known there that Trump must present successes in peace negotiations as quickly as possible for domestic political reasons. Not only Russia, but also Ukraine can deny this to the new US president. Zelensky demonstrated this "fashionably". ------------------ Fashion as dominance behavior - "cleverer, kleinerer, ukrainiger!" :D |

https://www.thetimes.com/world/europ...line-6n63nq23z Wasn’t it a guy named Donald who opposed North Stream 2? Now, in the meantime, when Putin is getting his best friend and he/US companies can earn money....then it is a complete other story, isn't it ? It’s easy for a country like the U.S., with its own abundant gas and oil resources, to lecture others on where they should get their raw materials. I don’t need much imagination to figure out what Donald and others would do if they had almost none—like my country. By the way, just so you know, the Baltic states and Poland actually want a strong Germany—for obvious reasons. |
One begins to wonder if blustering Donny is the only Russian mole in the US administration. Secretary of Defense Hegseth has ordered that US cyber operations against Russia be halted. That does nto just include active operation, but also (very time-consuming) planning, which could be of long lasting damage and is the far more dangerous - and unusual! - detail here.
As always when Dojnny does his buddy - or master - vladimiar faovurs, he gets nothing substantila bakc in return. The favours so far are a one-way-street. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c2er34w0jgdo https://edition.cnn.com/2025/03/02/p...end/index.html Slowly but surely even the slowest waking bloke should realise that what happens in Washington in principle is a takeover of US government by Russia. Four weeks - and it already is time to start considering how to make sure this goverment does not last a whole four years. It starts to become dangerous not just to the world, but to the US itself. |
^ Your comment made me recall the dream I had about Putin and Trump.
On a more serious note. It's a what if scenario Can Trump be sitting in the White House, if it is true that he have worked for the KGB/FSB before he became President ? Who should remove him if this is the case ? Markus |
Trump seeking to gain control over Nordstream 2 to push Europe into dependency again and get Russian gas back to Europe. Rubels for his buddy Vladimir, profits from fees and blackmailing options for America over Europe: win-win for both Russia and USA. Europe loses.
[NZZ] Will the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline end up in American hands? Media reports indicate surprising negotiations behind the scenes. American investors are showing interest in the pipeline. According to unconfirmed reports, even the Trump administration has a hand in the matter - with a view to a major "deal" with Russia. When the Nord Stream 1 natural gas pipeline and one of two lines of the sister project Nord Stream 2 exploded in a spectacular act of sabotage in September 2022, most observers viewed this as the end of the saga surrounding the controversial pipelines. Moscow's attack on Ukraine had shown that Europe had to become independent of cheap Russian natural gas - and the explosions in the Baltic Sea created the corresponding facts. But Nord Stream 2 is still not completely dead, as is now apparent: Two media reports indicate that the project is enjoying new support, including from surprising quarters. According to the newspaper Bild am Sonntag, a close follower of American President Donald Trump, his ambassador for special tasks Richard Grenell, traveled to Switzerland several times for secret talks. At the headquarters of the Nord Stream 2 operating company in the canton of Zug, he is said to have explored the possibility of a Russian-American agreement. The basic idea of this agreement is to supply Russian natural gas to Germany via the still intact section of the pipeline, with American operators involved. Grenell denies the report and says it should be treated with great caution. Some of it seems highly implausible. It was Trump, of all people, who railed against the pipeline project during his first term in office and accused Germany of becoming dependent on Russia for energy policy. In 2019, he even imposed sanctions on the companies involved. A common interpretation at the time was that Trump was not only acting out of geopolitical concern about Russia, but also in the interests of American suppliers of liquefied gas who wanted to penetrate the European market. In addition, it is not clear how an American-Russian natural gas agreement could be implemented over the heads of the German government and against the opposition of the EU. The idea is also hampered by American and European sanctions against Russia. But the Financial Times is also reporting on the attempt to revive Nord Stream 2. The British newspaper sees a friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the German businessman Matthias Warnig, at the center of the secret negotiations. The former Stasi officer was the managing director of the Zug-based operating company of Nord Stream 2 in the service of the Russian state-owned company Gazprom until 2023. The Financial Times bases its report on the negotiations on information from anonymous government representatives in Washington and Brussels. The new plan would give the USA unprecedented influence over Europe's energy supply, the newspaper points out. Given the huge obstacles, it is currently unclear whether this is just a pipe dream by people who dream of a "big deal" between America and Russia, or whether it is a lure designed to make the Kremlin willing to negotiate. What is certain is that American investors are certainly interested in the paralyzed pipeline. American entrepreneur Stephen Lynch, who has decades of business experience with Russia and was a major donor to the Trump election campaign, openly expressed his interest in buying Nord Stream 2 last November. As he told the Wall Street Journal at the time, he sees it as a unique opportunity to gain "control over Europe's energy supply for the rest of the fossil fuel era." Due to the current sanctions laws, Lynch had to apply for an exemption in 2024 in order to be able to enter into negotiations with the owners. Zug court grants an extension The quiet efforts to revive the pipeline are also reflected in a ruling by the Zug Cantonal Court on January 9. The court thus allowed an an extension of the debt restructuring for the insolvent operating company based in Steinhausen. The considerations that it took into account are interesting: Nord Stream 2 AG had argued that it was in intensive contact with financial investors. It is unclear whether this was Lynch, as the relevant passage in the judgment is blacked out. In addition, reference is made to the change of government in Washington, which could have a "significant impact on the situation" of the stock corporation. For the time being, this could be wishful thinking on the part of the pipeline owners. But in the new geopolitical equation that Trump started with his pro-Russian policy, Nord Stream 2 is suddenly one of the many surprising elements. |
