Hi Ersatzjack
Commander mod 3.2 download link below http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=4789 |
Thanks for the try but whenever I go there I simply get this message so I don't think it works any longer. Anyone able to download this presently? Is there another link somewhere?
The message - "Slow Down, cowboy! You are trying to download files too quickly. You must wait 3 seconds before you may download another file. Otherwise, the problem could be the server is overloaded with requests, please try again later." It doesn't matter how I try, this message always pops up. |
Welcome aboard!

Ok, been browsing google and the forums and honestly have only succeeded in giving myself a headache. I have recently reinstalled SH3 after a long hiatus and decided to put SH3 commander back in the lineup. Install of everything went great, up until I started commander.
It starts up, I can manage my settings, but when I try to select my starting flotilla all I see in the drop down is "Error!". Anyone have a solution? Spent 2 hours on this and can't figure out where the issue is at. Running SH3 with GWX works fine. Commander is the issue. |
Hi Hambone307 when you installed the Commander Mod did you also install the GWX-SH3Commandercfg File if not link below

Just double checked and installed that, still no dice. Still have "error" in the drop down menu for starting base.

First off I want to say I really love this mod and really appreciate all the effort that went into it but I had a few questions. These are really minor things but I figured i'd ask anyway.
Do you still get promoted with this mod installed? I ask because I just recently went through a career for the first time with this and was retired after 8 patrols without getting promoted. I started in September of '39 with a Type II with the 1st Flotilla and got roughly 50,000 tons over 8 patrols. I was awarded the U-boat clasp, German Cross, and the Iron Cross but was never promoted. Main reason I ask this is to find out if this is WAD or if I did something wrong during installation. I haven't noticed any other odd behavior or things out of place but I remember getting promoted to Oberleutnant zur See after one or two patrols in base SH3 + GWX so I wasn't sure if Commander changed the requirements for promotion. Secondly, am I screwing myself by playing with the Type II regarding the retirement calculation? I'll admit I don't know anything about how often sub commanders were retired but that career seems...rather short. Each patrol was around 10 days at sea due to the limited number of torpedoes I had. I know this is easily fixed by just unchecking the 'realistic career' box but I was mainly just curious about it. I'm planning on doing the former and playing through until I get some time in with the Type VII anyway. Thanks in advance for your responses and thanks again for this great mod! |
Works fine for me. I suspect that sticking with the Type II may be your problem as KL seems over ranked for the canoe operationally in the long term as opposed to a training assignment.
I was promoted KL from OLzS after my second Type VII patrol where I sank two ships for 15,000+ GRT plus a Black Swan frigate and Flower corvette. The warship kills were in desperation after receiving significant damage and running the battery down to <25%. Got a Knight's Cross for the pair and presumably you get Oak Leaves for bagging a third... -C |
Yep, turns out that was likely the problem. Just started a new career with a Type VII and got promoted to OLZS after my first wartime patrol. Granted, I did run into and sink HMS Nelson while I was out and about so i'm sure that didn't hurt.

Commander screw up
Why does Commander keep saying SH3 is open when it is not? It won't work.
