On the nav map right click on the contact and select classify, press 'B'. You should see it.

Unknown would be if I didn't know what it was. But I know it is a double of a real contact.
If its a ambig contact on the TA drop it. No need for the Unknown symbol.

I keep saying that about 3.10, but then I notice how much more awesome my mission would be with a new unit I just made... :damn:

I know the feeling. I when I originally started my China campaign, I was having the player tail a Shang out of Hainan. That just seems silly with the DB I'm working with now. :D

;)

Yea, I noticed your Spratly mission. I think that the PLAN task force needs a bigger anphib with it...

Hey, I've put a lot of work into those and I wanted to save them as much as the DB. Spratly was a PITA. Freedom of Nav is turning out to be one too. Surprisingly the Fleet Command radio calls were the easy part, I remember those being such a pain back when I first used them in Opposed Landing.

I'd love the model, not sure I'd go back and put it in Spratly though, would mess with the triggers.

FERdeBOER 11-25-10 06:52 AM

Talking about Spratly Islands... due the poor land resolution of the sim: what about creating land masses? something like big, medium and small islands, so when creating a mission we can put them where we want, to create islands, bays, promontories...
Like icebergs, but with solid ground... :hmmm:

I've thought about that. Both ML and I have just used the lighthouse to build small islands.

I'll do some research- get some reference pictures and some textures, it should be easy to build.

I should probably do one that has some military installations on it, like for an occupied island. Like an airstrip, Silkworm or SAM/AAA sites and a garrison.

XabbaRus 11-25-10 03:14 PM

A pity as I'm sure that DW has the ability to take higher resolution maps in the military version anyway.

A pity we can't unlock that.

I think Jamie back in the day that was more of a question of space. The next up terrain resolution was massive interms of HDD Space.

Update: China has AWACS in LWAMI...

... they also have fixed wing ASW... you have been warned... :03:

One of our P-3s snapped this photo of an island in the South China Sea...

Yeah, but that's no problem as long as you have the coordinates :D

My Friday night project:
Ok you FFG drivers, if your are within 900 nms of a Chinese Air Base keep a close eye on that air search...

About time the PRC got its own strike aircraft. The Xian JH-7 "FLOUNDER". Armaments include up to four C-802 ASMs or Kh-31 ARMs, and Four PL-8/9 SRAAMs plus drop tanks. Max speed Mach 1.75. Number in service; about 80 (60 PLANAF/20 PLAAF). :03:

I discovered a tiny CTD bug in 3.10: Try to select the Swiftsure (UK sub) in the USNI -> CTD.

Btw, was playing through the custom "With extreme prejudice" with Lwami 3.10 installed and boy oh boy I had the most incredible combat! I fought for several hours (realtime) with the 2 US subs in that mission and wow, this was so intense and exciting, your mod really made some changes to the AI performance.

Lost the mission, but it was one of the best fights I had in a game ever. I sank a whale, though :rotfl2:

ML Posted a little manual fix a while back.

Found this model on the internet, its taken quite a bit of work to make it accurate but its looking good...

Expect a FLT IIA version, and maybe more too.

Radio 11-29-10 06:13 AM

Would it be possible to improve the look of the Perry FFG model or at least the texture?

I could make the texture a little lighter if people want but that's all.

Nice,

I think I know that one, I had it a few years ago, got it from the Linux SSN boys.

Well, a higher-res texture would be great, the color is ok.
Anyway, i have some more tiny mod proposals/questions.

a) The russian Mike-class SSN had a titanium hull and was (according to the book i just read) very hard to detect on MAD because of this, however the LWAMI datbase lists it as quite the opposite, it is exceptionally easy to detect on MAD. Ok, that boat did not play a big role in reality before it sank, but I had some graet ideas for my upcoming LWAMI campaign with that boat. :DL Nice to see you've got the max. diving depth right, btw, this shows that you guys are very accurate and careful! :yeah:

b) Chile is misspelled as CHLIE in the datbase. :D (An incredibly HUGE error, lol)

c) Some US-subs were able to fire the SUBROC, could those be added to the database/loadouts of those boats? The UUM-44 was used on the Thresher, Sturgeon and LA class iirc. It had a nuclear warhead iirc, but for balance reasons a large conventional warhead would be fine imo. It would really add to the game.

After reading some more submarine stories about the cold war I have changed my mind about my campaign, I will instead go for a 70s-80s cold-war campaign with OS from both sides, I will try to stay as historically (regarding the used units) correct as possible. And i want to use as many Lwami models as possible :DL :sunny:

I'm not going to try and rebuild someone else's texture.

That is a headache I don't need. Especially without the original 3D model.

Noted.

ML you got that?

Already noted. My dyslexia acting up again.

Did you fix that already ML?

So far we have included no nuclear weapons period and I don't think that is likely to change.
