So what, New London, definitive choice? Cool! Looks like I might just get to even visit NYC.

I've talked to Neal recently, and he's pretty much settled on New London. Anyone want to set up a "New England Conspiracy" to help put together an itinerary? Right now Bradley International Airport is looking like an ideal starting point - it's only about an hour from Groton and it's a pretty nice drive through rural Connecticut. I've already mentioned the Air Museum, but I've been there about 10 times now and won't cry if I can't make it. As for naval sites, it seems like the Submarine Force Museum and Battleship Cove are on the "must do" list, along with the USS Constitution, but with so many great locations so close to each other, there simply isn't enough time to go everywhere!
I still need to get in touch with my uncle Rudolph Jones, who managed to get himself, one of my aunts, my dad, and myself inside the base for a 4th of July fish fry at the CPO's lounge back in 2007. He was the second in command of the base hospital when he retired from the navy, but I don't want to make him feel "used." :hmmm:
