:DL I've noticed them too, the captain smoking hovering above the water in the pen made me smile. Personally I wouldn't think that smoking anywhere near torps and shells was too cool an idea, weren't sub pens festooned with non smoking notices :D

Cheers

I had a missing Hammer.wav file, so I created one but for some reason there is no sound, I don't think it's the sound file, this is a pic of the guy:
http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...ammersound.jpg
Can anyone confirm whether this works or not?:hmmm: please let me know the super mod you use.
EDIT: I don't think this is part of the Sub Pens mod, I think that this is part of the WAC mod, so it probably won't work with GWX.

BEWARE

Just recently I have found that some games have a very bad stuttering problem and my TV card just shows a black image or weird graphic blocks, the sound goes ok just the images are effected!:damn:
What causes it is the editing of the boot.ini adding the following at the end of the last line "/3GB /USERVA=2990", I tested the TV card without the added text and works fine, now just to be sure I edited and rebooted the system 4 times with the text in and out, absolutely no doubt. I am going to start a new thread in the Hardware/Software section of Subsim to see it I can find out what these commands do and how to possibly fix.:hmmm:

Edit: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=162357
Seems that some machines cannot use this or problems!!:damn:

The only sound I have is from the welder which makes the sparking sounds, but no hammer sounds. I don't think he has a sound. I am using WAC.

I have the welder, Ambient sound of workers etc, crane and Keleun giving speech to crew, all work well, after some adjustments to the sdl settings, just no hammer noise, there is an entry in the sdl file for the worker with the hammer. :yep:

You just can add them to your existing sh3.sdl file, open the ones from HanSolo with S3D, scroll down and copy the last entrys of the Mod into your sdl. - Thats like i did it because i've got a heavy moded sh3.sdl, and all is working.

Hi chaps,

I have XP-Pro with 4GB memory (3.5 as reported by the OS) and I haven't applied the 3GB patch etc.. I am running the mod just fine alongside GWX3 and many other mods including all the latest flag/interior/hatch mods etc.
Thanks to Reece's tip I have sorted out the s3d.sdl CTD problem by adding the new lines to my previous sdl file as mentioned in the previous posting.

Best Regards

Aces

The mod comes with an updated sdl file, and Tuddley3 is using WAC.:yep:

Didn't get to see the pens at the start of the mission after loading the mod as it was dark when I left, but I just came back after a nearly disasterous patrol during morning hours. What beautiful subpens! I spent a good 10 minutes in free cam just nosing around.

Thanks for another indispensable SH3 mod!

Just reporting my experience

When I watch the video of this mod I was amazed. Immediately DL and modified my enbled mods to enjoy it. I tried on top of GW3-no other mod installed. That was an install that had all other mods rolled back (I mean disabled, in an orderly manner) with JSMGE. I started a new campaign at Brest, 1944. It loaded and started running like a charm (fps lowered to the 20's, but that's OK). I spent several minutes scrutinizing every detail. Then, I decided to go on. Switched to map screen....CTD:wah:
I tried to start a career again and this second time CTD withouth loading the game....:damn:
I've gone through all the post in this thread but I missed any situation like this. Other people claimed different experiences....Have no clue...
Anyway I want to say thanks for this magnificient mod!

Wolfehunter 03-19-10 05:08 PM

I can't get this mod to work without it CTDing once I'm about to start in my Uboat at the begining of the game. I've tried different ways to remove and add mods. But for some reason when I add the Subpen mod it ctd's no matter what. :hmmm: Shame I really like those harbors.. they rule.

I'm using 64bit with 4gigs and over. That switch doesn't work for my rig. :salute:

Would that be Win 7 64 bit with 4GB + of RAM ? I've just installed and would be interested to read why the 4GB patch doesn't work.:hmmm:

I installed it with no ill effect but perhaps I don't need it at all.

Cheers,

UG

Tuddley3 03-20-10 03:27 PM

The 4GB patch is only if you are using WAC 4.1. If you are a GWX user wanting to use the Sub Pens mod, the 4GB patch is not needed.

All I can say, is that if you can't get Sub Pens to work, try the 3GB switch (This is not to be confused with the 4GB Patch, they are 2 separate things).

Jimbuna 03-21-10 05:25 PM

Didn't someone fashion a mod that allows the sub to start inside the WAC pen when used with GWX? :hmmm:

sh3.exe by default will only use 2gb memory, if you have a 64bit system with 4Gb ram then apply the 4gb patch to sh3.exe, 32 bit users have to edit the boot.ini with the /3Gb switch and the USERVA to lower the kernel from between 2gb to around 1.5gb (1660 found to be good), before applying the patch to the sh3.exe file.:yep:
