Hello,

it is sad to hear a friend of Neal and founder of the Cavalla historical foundation has passed away.
Thanks to him for helping to protect the US and us allies back then in those cold war days. He must have been an extraordinary man, not only because you do not become a nuclear sub commander "just like that".

My condelences to his family and friends, keep your chin up - i am sure he would have wanted that.

Hope i found the right words,
greetings from Germany,
Kai ("Catfish")

Trubute.

I never had the opportunity to meet him but from the responses and posts in this column he was clearly an excellent father, a fine professional seaman and a marvellous man. My sincere condolences to his daughters and family.

I bow in respect to such a life and raise a toast in his honour.

Captain Zeb sounds like a fine man, I wish I had met him and heard some of his stories myself. He lived in the "Wild West" days of nuclear submarines, on the cutting edge of the force. Rest in peace Captain. :salute:

I never met you sir, but from what I've read I wish I had. RIP :salute:

Each time we lose someone like this it's like a library has burned down. So much knowledge goes with them.

May your journey be peaceful Captain, you'll be missed.

A great man who will be missed by all that know him and who’s memory will live on in those who love him.
May his family find peace in the knowledge of the sadness his passing has brought to light in so many.
May this sailors hat find its final resting place :salute:
