Installed and running :up:
First i thougt that it was too bright, but then i remember that the gamma correction was for the previous mod, i tunned down the gamma and now is the most realistic view i´ve ever seen at night. :up: :up: Great work ! |
Marhkimov -->
at the begining - BIG :sunny: thanks for your mods!!! But I have a one question: it is possible to change 16km mod to eg. 12km mod? I am asking because I have less than 25 FPS with 16km mod in the harbor or close to land areas. 16km mod v2.0 is perfect for eye but hard for 3D card (I have radeon 850X PE with 256 Mb of RAM) - it is why I am looking for any solutions;) |
Hi strelnikov,
I used to run 16km mod and also had the same problem as you. And note that my system has an ATI radeon 9800pro and 1gb ram; above average specs, if you ask me... But fps was still poor nearby land and in port. I got really tired of 20fps, so I installed 8km mod and all is well again. So before you contemplate about 12km, I recommend switching to 8km. It's not as bad as you might think... |
Hello Marhkimov!
Thanks for fast answer! Of course I have tested 8km mod - all is ok but I have a one fatal problem with opacity, fog and lighting values under water. In other words fog is to close to my u-boat - it can be OK on the deep sea but in a shallow waters I have a fatal contrast with sea bottom level and water opacity (eg. when sea is not deeper than 25-40 meters). I have changed your 8km mod scene.dat file (in hex editor I have replaced values of offset 03DC to orginal --> 80 C0 00 00 90 41) because I was simply unhappy that new scene.dat (8 or 16 km) reduced the sightrange to almost nil, so I decided to change it back to orginal. But it doesn't work with 8 km mod, only with 16km. It is why I have asked about 12km mod or how to do it;) |
Have you tried using TT's mini tweeker tool? You can easily change the fog factors from there.
The value is called "UnderwaterFogEnd". Just change it to a value between 12 and 20 for high underwater visibility. |
Marhkimov -->
Sorry for problems but I have an other idea - it will be possible to mix : underwater values from 16km mod with sea /sky /sun lighting, colour, reflections and fog distance values taken from 8km mod? |
Marhkimov-->
wow - you are a fast one;))) thanks again! I have not used miniTTtweaker (I have find info about correct hex value on the forum;) but I will try !!! |

Let me know..... 1] You included the enhanced smoke into this mod ? 2] If yes..... do you have the smoke mod separtelly ? And did you made a manual editing guide ? Can you made a guide ? If you dont remember all the changes, no problem, just make a list with all settings present in the mod....... i made that for the Depth Charges FX to compatibilize with other mods. There are many persons working to mod particles file, we need to do a manual editing guide with each mod.... :up: I am working now in to increase the tracer shells, it works very fine, i am able to fix my aiming visually...... i am thinking in to NOT make a mod, only a manual editing guide...... is more simple. 3] If i use your ocean files, can i replace the night texture zone to maintain my clear night vision. I fight a lot with that i dont want to lose my night vision. |

But I did write all of my settings down in a notebook. I guess I can type them out if you really want me to. Quote:

If not, people will be enforced to choice between one mod or another....... I agree to make the guide is boring, because copy and paste is not admited by TT's Mini Tweaker........but when it is done, to edit the file is so quickly and easy, no more than a few minutes and done ! :up: |
