We can always dream ! Sure, everything is possible... in theory ! :rotfl2:

Nevermind, I think WoWarships' models are a bit too much complexe for such an old game like SH3.

Excellent job :yeah:. Having done a few of this conversions for my SH4 installations, I know how painful they are to convert.

Any good 3D artist could do that.
I don't get the "we can't modifiy the model " part.

The "we can't add any new skins (textures)" part is opinable too.
It just require time.
You can choose to modify the textures, or you can use models and UV-remap them whit a skin you have...

I agree. Nowadays even amateur 3D artists like us have powerful free tools for doing pretty everything. All is needed is time, a good dose of patience and willingness to learn.

That said, sometimes starting from scratch can be more time effective than editing a model that for diverse reasons might not be game-ready. Even so, WoW/WT models are fairly accurate and they offer an excellent 3D template to work on, especially for ships whose detailed plans are not always easy to find.

Talking more specifically about skins, most WoW models use two big textures: one for hull and superstructure, and the other for decks. All other textures are for equipment which even in stock SHIII is not multi-skinned, and for small details which don't require multi-skinning either.

One last note about accuracy: some of the models by Wargaming/Gaijin represent the ships in semi-fictional or non-WWII refits, so be careful when you start working on one of them. Most of the times those refits are only relative to superstructure and armaments, the majority of the WWI, interwar, postwar and semi-fictional models still being a good reference when it comes to hull lines and general proportions :yep:
