It would appear we only hear from our Aussie friends when things are going there way, either that or a wicket falls :)

True that. Seriously, I've little confidence in our ability to make much more than 180 on this wicket. The openers have been dismal the last two seasons and down to the top 4 its been pretty woeful.

That said, its nice to have your batsmen feeling the pinch a little.:03:

England currently lead by 232 with four wickets remaining...does this mean you concede are you praying earnestly for another Agar fairy tale/miracle? :)

Lead approaching 250 and yes where are our Aussies friends looks like they have disappeared of the face of the earth, there was full of it earlier :haha:

A splendid lead of over 260...should be quiet in the cells this evening apart from the Broad incident.

That makes it still 2-1 in the Aussie camp regarding poor umpire decisions.

And I know which side will be praying for rain tonight :har:

BossMark 07-12-13 02:11 PM

Looking at a lead of over 300 now that should be way too many for the Cons :yep:

One of the best things about an Ashes test is the fact neither side will give in and I'd like to think we'll last an hour in the morning and close in on three hundred but that may be a little too much to ask.

There are two days left, plenty of time for either side to win it through batting or bowling...I think it is too close to call.

One thing is certain though...the Aussies were beat at 117 - 9 and owe EVERYTHING to young Agar but I can't see him being such a sensation in the rest of the series so they will have to buck their ideas up because for me they are still the underdogs by a country mile.

Next transmission from down under when a wicket falls...'fair weather' supporters :)

Just woke to the news of Broads reprieve. I wont whinge like a pom about the crap umpiring but will lament Clarke's two blunders in taking the new ball when Prior came in and choosing to use DRS on the Bairstow appeal.

You'll only hear from me when I'm awake. The pommy batting was putting me to sleep so I drifted of to bed at around 2am my time.

Still a lot of cricket to be played, but I fear those crucial blunders may have cost us the test. A few quick wickets tonight and we'll see how well we can bat. As I said earlier on this pitch we'll be lucky to make 180.

Jimbuna 07-12-13 04:14 PM

I sincerely hope your right regarding the '180' prediction but be honest, you were given two wicket decisions yesterday in extremely dubious circumstances.

As for the Broad reprieve, it all started years back with Ian Chappell when he instructed his team mates "Don't walk, let the umpire make the decision" and in that I agree with him.

No rain is forecast for tomorrow I'm afraid :O:

TarJak 07-12-13 04:23 PM

And I sincerely hope I'm wrong about our ability to score runs.

I don't blame Broad for not walking, but being a local lad, he must be related to Robin Hood.

BTW its bollocks that it was Chappell that started that. You've only got to look at Jardine in 1931 to find the culprit.:O:

Jimbuna 07-12-13 04:25 PM

Hahaha...till tomorrow :)
