Oh now that's a good idea.

Two years playing and that never occurred to me.

Thanks Frau :DL

You're welcome.

Of course if the one guy come back up top in raingear, I have to send everybody below to suit up. Otherwise it doesn't look like a cohesive collection and we can't have that!

Patrol 17 done, 5 ships sank for 25,500 tons and 1 aircraft. The western approaches to Brest are a VERY dangerous place for British aircraft. I got attacked by a dozen before I hit the open water. I encountered a mini convoy of 2 ships and found a bug. I hit the M25x and it went dead in the water, the big T2 in front stopped. I mean literally stopped. I used the rest of my torpedoes and sank them both. No escorts or warships at all this trip, but my patrol zone was near the Azore islands. I was going to venture near the straits of Gilbraltor but i was bingo on ammo for deck gun and torpedoes. I accidentally sank the Hipper also. I was watching it in my periscope and after i had fun doing that I went to hit TC up and hit the enter button. Do you guys know what the enter button does? Well a spread of 3 torpedoes went 600m straight into the side of the Hipper and it sank in about 10 seconds. I got a medal for it. hmmmmmm. Is there something I dont know about here. I get a medal for sinking our own heavy cruiser?

Capt Scott Von Ainz
17 Patrols, U-75
30 Merchants
1 Destroyer
(1 German Heavy Cruiser that I blamed on a reef)
144,710 tons

The supply ships were...supply ships ie. Thalia in Cadiz or Belchen off the east coast of Greenland.

The milch cows were Type XIV U-boats usually and would meet up with U-boats at pre-designated locations to offer fuel or a few torpedoes usually.

The game treats them both the same way apart from graphically of course :DL:up:

My 18th patrol was an adventure. 5 merchants for 21,000 tons and I took major damage for the first time. Those British aircraft have gotten better, they hit me in the approach to Brest, direct hit amidships thank god i had no one on the bridge. When i got to Brest i hit exit patrol and KABOOM, CTD. I am not happy right now. With -1600 renown i will be in this boat for a longggggggggg time.

Way to may CTD's.

I'll let Jim answer for sure, but IIRC it makes a lot of changes to Zones.cfg and particles.dat - so I suspect not.

Then again I could be wrong... :O:

Patrol #18 is completed with no CTD this time. I encountered my first big convoy and lived to tell the tell, if not completely successful. I snuck between two of the escorts (which were all Flowers) and ended up in the middle of the convoy in bad weather. I fired all 5 torpedoes at 3 targets. the 2 big C2's and a Coastal Merchant. One C2 took to magnetic shots below the keel and sank quickly, the second C2 was missed as both eels passed under the keel. the last torpedo shot from 500m at the Coastal Merchant appeared to hit and explode, but the ship sailed on as if undamaged. I dove to 100 meters (first time that deep) and crept away while torpedoes were reloaded. I was unable to relocate the convoy. I got a total of 6 merchants for 34,500 tons. (ohhh lord am I lucky, i just alt/tab back to the game and it CTD when i was going to get my total tonnage) Ok back in the game. My tonnage is now 174,451 tons. My renown is -751 so maybe I will be able to upgrade my boat next year. The date is Oct 4, 1941.

I gave the men their medals and promotions and we had a huge party. I didn't know I had a crew member named Bernard? Well I hope he fits in with the crew.

Capt Scott Von Ainz.

Isn't ''Enhanced Damage Effects'' included in 3.0?

I think “Enhanced Damage Effects” is an optional mod in GWX3 GOLD
