Patch?

As this patch does not seem to automatically install how would anyone who does not read the forums ever know that improvements might be available?

Having said that I imagine those playing without forum advice and mods would probably have given up by now!

Downloaded but not tested yet.

Do you have a retail DVD install? or Steam? I've read a few posts about it not installing, but my digital download auto-downloaded and asked to install just fine. Wondering what's causing these 'can't install' problems.

Ok tried the patch. 15 minutes into the game i dove my VIIA . And guess what crew still on the conning tower while under water. Only when i leveled of peri depth the crew dissapeard. But this was well after the boat was submerged.
I,m starting to think if any of the fixes actually made it into the game!! And no i wasent using an old save i restarted the campaign. One more thing. I miss my mods!

Anyway when i surfaced my crew did not want to go to conning tower but remained inside the boat.

Not sure if this is the right place for this but...

#1
While observing the crew loading torpedoes in the bow section I noticed that the crew kinda rubs "air" while doing the starboard side. Port is fine. The starboard side the crew is about a in-game foot off the torpedo and wheel.

#2
While on the conning tower with time compressed - the crew lags behind the boat, catches up, lags again. The kinda hover in mid air while they lag.

- did not read if anyone posted this yet....sorry!

Torpedo crew has always done that when reloading as I have seen.
As for being on the bridge during TC, or anywhere else but on the map why would you want to do that?
I never TC with anything but the map view, to watch as graphics go into warp speed is kinda silly. I dont want to see that.
Besides you need to be on the map when TC'ing otherwise you wont see any ships show up till it's too late, and you wont know how far you have traveled.

Big FPS improvement for me in sub, single core issue 100% fixed :) , all mods i have tested so far are still fine, i can confirm that aircraft are still harmless (in stock) and that Wamphyri's mod still works as does uboat killer 1.02.

So far i am happy due to FPS improvements and the single core fix, AI mods still work so im cool!

Hope next MOD is for AI.

I use 32xtc when navigating the Kiel canal. With the way the AI was , I wasn't prepared to risk being anywhere other than the bridge at X32, I actually hate the canal (do it the first time - lovely, after that it's sooooo boring) and there's no-way I'd want to endure it at 1Xtc :o

Some useful posts here but I have to say, I've not seen so much hysteria since Lady Diana died:har:

Its the Fact they bothered to add it in the first place and not do the critical part and fix the Stadimeter. It was prob one line of code to fix.
All they had to do was send the Mast height from cfg file (Same way as Draft is sent) instead of sending 20M as Mast height no matter what ship is selected.
If this is true (I haven't bought SH5 yet, and haven't been around subsim lately), it's a disgrace. Having the stadimeter send the same height to the TDC every time is a game breaking bug for those of us who use manual targeting.

If this hasn't been fixed blame should be place directly on the program managers and devs of Ubisoft Romania, not the suits at Ubisoft central. Utter incompetence.

Never used the canal myself, and besides it's a non issue halfway through the first patrol as your base is moved to Wilhlemshaven by then.

To me TC'ing while seeing the graphics is totally unrealistic, and would only look right if I were in a speedboat towing a skier.:D
A naked skier at that.:sunny:
In fact I usually go below and then to the map before TC'ing, that way if I need to crash dive I can without going down the hatch first.

Ok my lunch is over so back to work, hoping for more reports on specific mods still working.

Not using the Kiel Canal in game is equivalent to using the Kiel Canal in real life. Saves you time.

what ever you do, do not install the patch. it was so much better with the mods. lesson learned on my part.

Fixed in my UIs mod ;)

ReFaN 05-11-10 03:51 PM

Did not get any patch here :timeout:

Nisgeis 05-11-10 03:54 PM

I haven't got the patch yet either... except each time I launch the game I get the distinct impresison that the game updater is thinking particularly hard about something.

THE_MASK 05-11-10 04:07 PM

I noticed that the mouse movement outside is nice and smooth now . With 1.1 it was a tad jerky , even with a 5870 graphics card .
