Now if only I could find a periscope mod that will work with 1.4b that looks as good as in Rubini's posted shot...I would be in subsim heaven.:yep: I know going to GWX would provide one but I want to play a career in 1.4b first. I have GWX downloaded and ready to apply when I'm ready.

You have a similar problem to me, the vertical is egg shaped, my screen ratio is 16:10, 1360x768 shows round on 16:9 monitors though, Seeadler pointed this out.:yep:

Seminole 06-29-10 08:58 PM

Yeah it is a bit egg shaped....but it isn't too awfully bad. I can live with it in order to get the sharp image. I'm quite happy.

( Off Topic)One thing I noticed is that the writing in Notepad and labeling of the buttons and controls are all in German in one of my screen shots and in English for my other.:hmmm:

Now what on earth (or file) would cause that, I wonder?...

I really like the German but I don't know which file caused it to change back and forth like that.

...and though the sharp image is still with me, the language has reverted once again to English. :nope:

EDIT: ....and this morning another unsolicited reversion. Back to German again. Which is fine and what I want. Hope it stays this time.

please, can someone point me to the 1280x800 files (if there are any).
This looks very promising and I hope it isn't abandoned and I recently installed SH3 as I recall it being better in some ways. But I forgot that SH3 doesnt have "native" widescreen support. The first post said something about guidelines to do it yourself, but the guidelines skips the most important parts (I think. I couldnt get it to work)

IIRC, this is an issue with the .dll, but not a real problem, you just need to adjust something that I canīt remember now. IIRc itīs wrote on the readme of WS Seeadler's dll. Take a look there.

ahoj rubini!
how do I have to edit the cameras.dat to change it into a free cam (just like that one flakmonkey uses in his Interior Mod)?

regards

Hi,

Is just a matter to adjust the original free camera ...but isn't a simple "do this&do that issue"...I guess that you need to open the files with S3D, compare them, understand the differences and make something similar in your cameras.dat. It's not difficult.

I made it for my own use sometime ago but can't remember more exactly how I did it...my file is adapted to my game so it will not help you too.

Cheers,

Rubini.

Just come back to SH3 after a long period and am trying to get this mod to work with my Dell Studio XPS 1645 laptop with ATI HD4670 graphics card.

Basically it has an HD screen and I just can't get SH3 in anything but 4:3. tried changing the .cfg to 1360 x 768 and 1365 x 768 but all I get is the 'can't initalise 3d engine'

Has anyone succeded to get this running on an HD screen laptop?

Did you change the ini or the cfg? Be sure to only edit the cfg to your native display resolution, 1920x1080 in my case for example. Do not edit the ini under all circumstances, because that would then indeed cause the trouble you're describing.

I suggest you check which resolutions are supported on your desktop and keep to them. I suggest you first try with the XP Res mod which available in the download sections

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1092.

Bowman 12-09-10 09:06 AM

Guys, thanks for all the help.

Can't get the GWX Widescreen to work but the XP Res Mod does so I now have widescreen SH3 in 1920 x 1080 :D

Meridian 02-16-11 06:07 AM

Has anyone got this working using any Nvidia drivers above version 191.07?

If so what res are you running at and what exactly have you done to get it to work.
