gee! how nice it's finally released :) So much thanks for everyone!! I'm very proud to have worked in this mod :yep: As it is, you should normally cross lightnings bolt whenever weather is overcast. Could every person experiencing it or not while in campaign mode report it to me in PM (so as not to flood this thread...)? I'm still having problem getting those. Anyway, the mod just rocks ;)

Thanks to everyone!:arrgh!:

I'm going to miss "SS 1.2c" though I've always felt this is one of those "Thats the way "they" should have done it in the first place" kinda mods.

Kosh Reduced Floaters Apr 28
SILENT SERVICE 1.2c GRAPHICS MOD
Living Breathing Ocean(LBO) with 9KM visability mod and 30m underwater visabili(*)
Smoke On The Water -beta5-(*)
Krillers terrain and harbor upgrade1(*)
Ultimate Sound Pack

Looking forward to the final product , when all the dust settles...

You're right about the ones with the *, they are included in the mod.

The floaters are also reduced in the mod

If you want the soundpack no problem, enable it after you enable ROW.
(you will lose the hollywood effect, if you want to keep it. Copy the soundfiles in your soundpack).

Silent service mod.. I do not use it.
But I think it gives conflict because there is a menu screen in the ROW mod.
Just enable it with JGSME after you did ROW.

If anybody disagree, please speak up..

Wouldn't that cause mods to overwrite each other...? Then when you'd go to disable one you'd have to disable the other .... I've got that before in JGSME. I'll just keep it the way it is ....Maybe on down the line Capt. Cox will do a even better one.. I just thought it really gave the startup a new (better) face
BTW ....Really like your sub skinning , ya ever think about doing some for "IL-2" ?

leovampire 09-21-07 08:07 PM

Sea dog's

I specificly set up this mod to work with most PC's as best as possable so what is the problem?

longam 09-21-07 08:12 PM

Alpha version up on mirror site in UHA and RAR formats.

leovampire 09-21-07 08:16 PM

Thanks longam

For also doing it!

And Kapitan_zur_see you need to empty your PM box buddy. Thanks!

And buzzinbill

Just the Load screen is changed other wise it is not touched at all for the Silent Service mod!

The reduced floaters are there stock is nut's we just didn;t make them black kept
the green color and then reduced the amount of them by 75% at least.

I only added the other sounds out of respect to one of the testers that asked me to place them in the mod because he loved them and thought it was part of the environment.

Some are sounds that were introduced in mod's from many moons ago and I didn;t know if people could still find them. A lot of those sounds were enhanced by me.
And some from the Die Slowly mod that just blew me away and thanks to Redwine for them.

buzzinbill 09-21-07 08:45 PM

I thank ya for the info

I wasn't complaining leo , just reporting ..... Or at least I hope I didn't sound like I was . I think others on here , myself included need to see the "big picture" You and the team are only trying to help make this sim better (hope I'm not wrong for saying that)

What value controls the sun/moon size, exactly? I want to try and get it so it's the proper size (about half a degree, or about half of a finger width (or less, but I have small fingers) at arm's length.

The radius is the distance of the celestial sphere, right, not the apparent size, correct?

tater

leovampire 09-21-07 08:52 PM

sky object radius drop down for mini tweeker

the sun and moon size is set up there.

You can not change the apparent distance to camera view unless you mod the camera file.

With a simple adjustment to the camera you can change the way they look in size Angular Angle. Fallow cam / Bridge Cam / and free cam need to be set to same values to keep the same size look from normal eye view

tater 09-21-07 08:55 PM

So to get it 1/2 a degree, I need to mess with the camera? (moon was up before sunset, and I was measuring both from my patio tonight)

Maybe 40-45% of my pinky width at arm's length.

I moved a camera (love the new camera view!) to see a sailor's fingers on the binos next to the sunrise, and the sun was bigger than his whole hand by a bit with the camara ~ arm's length (had with the jumps it makes, took many tries).

celestrial object rotation is perfect in the game

And they rotate exactly as they do in real life. The camera is the problem with getting a perfect ballance in a ll views. All objects in the game cause a problem with halo effect's and lighting effect's for some reason or another. You can only see the halo through the sub not the sun or moon and the same with the Deck crew. Just like they get transparent as the fog layer starts to grow more intence in storm conditions.

The Dev's hard coded the way the sun and moon roates around the Earth and seemed to match it up to the orbital possitions reported by Scientists in the 1930's through the 50's. There is some kind of Depth perception bug or setting in the game that works with the Transperancies where the problems come into play.

And when you adjust the size of the sun in the sky angle possitions it also adjusts the moon size to match so if the moon and sun is set to the same size in the object size drop down then they will always match each other in size in the rest of the settings.
