I play Sh3 with gwx 2.0, lite harbor, 16km. I am going to go back to SH4 when The expansion pack comes out for the IXD2 missions.

SH3 1.4b with SH3 commander 2.7 and GWX 2.0(best mod ever),
84% realism, currently commanding U-36 on patrol in grid BE61.

Havent touched SH4 yet, far too interested in the battle of the atlantic and U-boats.

Sh3/gwx. period.

There is nothing able to beat the atlantic, and after starting sh4 and seeing cardboard crew spinning around, i silently deleted it. what a bummer.

I don´t like the pacific warfare, the american subs and i don´t like sh4, i played it for a month and that´s all, it could have better graphics than sh3 but the gameplay is much much much better in sh3, the u-boats rules the seas. And sh4 is a bit more like an arcade game, sh3 is a really complex subsim.

Had been trying to deal with both for months, pros & cons, ect... No matter what, I could not get into SH4, like I do SH3 . Hey, maybe it's just me? Full time atlantic from now on!

I use everything what you see below, plus I'm waiting for Longer Repairing Time (LRT) and Depth Charge Shake (DCS) for GWX2.0. I love this game, GWX push new, better life to old SH3. Thanx guys.

I really enjoy SH4 and have restarted a career. However, there is something that keeps me coming back to SH3.

I hope SH3 never goes away.

I play Silent Hunter III only w/ GWX 2.0 and will upgrade to 2.1 when it is released. I use additional mods:

Longer wakes
Binocs
Dam_Tex DT V2
GWX - Alternate load screen - Full Circle
GWX - English Nav Map and Grid Refs
GWX - Enhanced Damage Effects
GWX - Integrated Orders

I play at 80% realism with auto targeting on at the moment.

I only play SH3 (with GWX, of course!).

After reading many reviews and seeing numerous screenshots, I drew the conclusion that SH4 is merely a re-tread of SH3 with some graphical tweaks.
