Video of Milky Way.

Some of the best time lapse video I've ever seen of the Milky Way from a mountain top. Much of it was taken during a sand storm giving some awesome video. It really is worth the watch.

Check out his other "The Aurora", just as amazing. His other links on the right of the page.

WOW...what a nice place to visit! Nice video.

The rest is silence.

Thansk for sharing! Beautiful.

I think "The Aurora" is even better.

I would like to see the aurora in person. What is facinating about the videos is the places these are taken. Pristine and untouched. Beautiful!

I've seen the one near Va. What was amazing, we were doing a civil war reenactment at Fredricksburg and saw it that night. Robert Lee saw it the night of the battle of Fredricksburg, as did all the others I'm sure, but commented it was an omen of victory. Course they had already won and the union slipped away the next day.

Felt strange being on Marye's Heights that evening just as Lee was and seeing a rather rare event as he did.

What's up with the bright light on the mountain top around 0m27s. Surely not Aurora reflection!?!

Armistead 04-20-11 12:42 PM

Appears to be a sun reflection on the snow, happens a few times. Done in time lapse, so just the look of it. Fairly sure the city lights more pinkish is to the left.
