CBS hit with FCC complaint over edited 60 Minutes Harris interview: ‘Restore public confidence’

Imagine that.

The announcement from the legal watchdog group marks its response to revelations that CBS edited portions of its recent 60 Minutes interview with Harris. CBS aired two different versions of Harris answering a question about whether the U.S. has failed to influence Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's actions in the war in Gaza.

In the 60 Minutes interview aired on Oct. 7, Harris said, “We are not gonna stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.”

But in a teaser clip of Harris answering the same question prior to the full interview’s release, the vice president offered a significantly different response that many conservatives derided as a “word salad.”

"Well, Bill, the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by, or a result of, many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region," she told CBS host Bill Whitaker.

None at all. This would have all been settled long ago save for Trump's delaying tactics and the SCOTUS ruling.

Well sir, that's on the "system" in place.

Cutting out is one thing. Replacing it with another is a different story.

Then gather your evidence and file a complaint with the FCC.

Yes I think government should make known what’s going on to the public and the reasons why intervention is necessary and from what I’ve read and heard they have when comes to Ukraine and Israel. Can you convince everyone? Of course not, but it’s like that in every country. Thing is if the U.S. doesn’t we get called isolationists by those who think we should. And if the U.S does then we get called war mongering imperialists by those who think we shouldn’t. Damned if we do damned if we don’t.

As far as this unfounded fear of U.S. isolationists taking over. One just has to look around and see we have a global diplomatic , economic and military presence which isn't going to change anytime soon.

As of today, Harris' campaign is getting bleak at best. Perhaps this is a lesson for democrats that installed a person they like without one single vote from their base is not the best recipe for winning in November. Harris did not getting one single delegate in 2020 should have told them something! Certainly the voting public at primary time would have said as much. But they were not given the opportunity.

She(Harris) was given an A+ for here perfect performance in the FOX interview and now people should understand why some Rep is supporting her and why the Dem supporters are all behind her.

Now, this is not my words, It's something I read on FB some days ago.

Those giving her an A+ are ones that would give her an A+ if she just sat there on her thumbs humming Kumbaya My Lord. Sure, Rep can support her. Today Dem Casey in PA has announced he support Trump. She is floundering in the swing states. In short, the A+ and republicans supporting her is not helping. Also, for many, it does not matter who(repub/dem/whatever) they are supporting. They make their own decision without influence.

Apparently, the DC evidence has been released already but I can't see it yet. There are four volumes amounting to about 1000 pages and about 80% of it is redacted to public view.

1000 pages. Great toilet ready I bet. Will the folks in Congress read it? Most don't read the 1000 page bills put forth in Congress. I'm not reading it. Glad you have the time to read it.

I'm just waiting for the media to use the oh so tired...."BOMBSHELL" in the headlines. Sigh....

For all you who mailed in your ballot, if you sent your ballot back weeks and weeks ago and you still don’t see it as having been received, call your local election officials. Many local election offices are being inundated by voters with similar concerns, so it may take a few tries.

When you do get an official on the phone, you should ask the status of your ballot — election officials may have information that hasn’t been posted yet. If they say it hasn’t been received yet, ask what your options are, if there are any. Hope your ballot doesn’t get lost or thrown out good luck :yeah:
