Markus, in my opinion here is a great example of what I think it means to be an isolationist. Unless my government can convince me intervention is necessary the isolationist part in me says not my problem stay out of it,

Egypt is making moves to deploy military forces to Somalia, despite strong opposition from Ethiopia. Tensions are running high between Egypt and Ethiopia due to Ethiopia's construction of the Aswan dam.

If you REALLY want that cabin way off the beaten path, go for it.
Just try not to drag the rest of us along.

I don't shop Walmart. I just purchased a 1/4 of beef. 84 pounds to be exact. A cabin off the beaten path is not part of isolationism when defining a country.

I can understand that many Americans are against US-troops in Ukraine-Does this make them isolationist ?

I also remember how strong the isolationism movement was during the 30's USA.

An isolationist is not against trade and economical cooperation with other countries, but they don't want US-troops in foreign countries. This is my view on an isolationist.

The Ukraine is becoming a money pit. When does it stop?

That is a tough one to answer but one every western country should be facing up to.

Yes, they should. Volodymyr Zelenskyy takes trips to Washington DC and leaves with billions. ET2SN only thinks world economy when it comes to isolationism. Walmart where a majority of the goods sold are from China. China is a problem.

I could well be wrong but I've always thought that the quickest way to bring China to heel would be by introducing a total embargo of all Chinese goods.

It would be a start! The world economy is based on the US dollar. It could very well be based on the Chinese yuan with little the US could do about it. Americans name China as the largest threat to the US. The FBI, CIA and NSA all have said China is the greatest threat to the USA. Do we all recall the balloon from China slowly navigating over the USA? Harris said Iran is the greatest threat. Both could be right. Either pose a different type of threat. China owns 380,000 acres of land here in the USA. Some parcels of land are near major USAF bases! What is wrong with this picture?

But, as stated, ET2SN loves Walmart that is loaded with Chinese goods. It is a world economy! Don't take him down the road of isolationism.

Should the government need to convince every American that intervention is necessary before acting? After all American public support for Ukraine has always been around 60%. Should that not be enough?

60% in support for helping Ukraine-Does this include boots on the ground ?

I support Denmark and Sweden sending military aid to Ukraine-My support ends there I'm not going to support boots on the ground.

I believe the question just concerned continuing our military aid.

I'm about to change my mind on the boots on the ground-Watching the latest video(I've posted it in our Ukraine thread) NK sending troops to fight side by side with the Russian and Ukraine has to fight them be them self. So far it's only 3.000 but this number will increase.

Tomorrow the redacted evidence in the DC election interference case will be released to the public in the court docket.

Trump's motion asking for a stay to "evaluate litigation options"(whatever that means) grated for seven days on 10/10/2024.

Trump's motion to compel discovery dated 10/16/2024.

https://storage.courtlistener.com/re...8148.263.0.pdf

"MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER
Defendant has filed a Motion to Compel Discovery, ECF No. 167 (“Motion to Compel”),
and a Motion for an Order Regarding the Scope of the Prosecution Team, ECF No. 169 (“Motion
on Scope”). Collectively, the motions seek an order requiring the prosecution to search nine
government entities for fourteen categories of information, and to produce any discovered
information to the defense. For the reasons set forth below and in a Classified Supplement that
will be distributed to the parties, the court will GRANT in part and DENY in part Defendant’s
motions, and require Defendant to file any further motions to compel immunity-related discovery
by October 30, 2024."

Trump's motion asking to extend the stay to 11/14/2024 dated 10/17/2024.

https://storage.courtlistener.com/re...8148.264.0.pdf

"PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP’S
MOTION TO CONTINUE STAY OF ORDER
President Donald J. Trump respectfully requests that the Court temporarily continue the
stay of its October 10, 2024, Order (Doc. 260, the “Order”), through November 14, 2024, to allow
for the concurrent filing of the parties’ respective immunity appendices. In support, President
Trump states as follows:"

The courts denial to extend the stay order dated 10/17/2024.

https://storage.courtlistener.com/re...8148.265.0.pdf

"OPINION AND ORDER
Before the court is Defendant’s Motion to Continue Stay of Order, ECF No. 264
(“Motion”). On October 10, 2024, the court granted leave for the Government to file a redacted
version of the Appendix to its Motion for Immunity Determinations. Order at 2, ECF No. 260.
The court stayed the public docketing of that Appendix for seven days, however, granting
Defendant’s request for time to “evaluate litigation options.” Id. (citation omitted). The option
Defendant has evidently chosen is asking the court to extend that stay until November 14, 2024......

......For these reasons, Defendant’s Motion to Continue Stay of Order, ECF No. 264, is
hereby DENIED. In a separate order on October 18, 2024, the court will lift the stay and direct
the Clerk of the Court to docket the Appendix, with the Government’s proposed redactions."
