That German Z Class DD is what I've been working on......... trying to fix the texture (well, its about the 10th thing I've been working on simultaneously). Haven't gotten it right yet, but I'm close.

btw, cdsubron7... I'm still out on that first patrol, the orders say "Honshu", but the map says "Kyushu". When the primary was completed a while back, it again said "Honshu". I am definitely South and West of Honshu, South & West of Bungo Suido. I'm gonna have to start back (take the long way home) because of fuel levels in the ole Porpoise boat. Nary a contact, other than about a dozen airplanes patrolling the area. Not even a fishing boat to shoot at, and it's almost January!!! I'm sure something will show-up sometime soon...
Are you referring to one of my single missions, pb? If so, which one?

cdrsubron7 07-31-16 08:21 PM

Here's something I'd like to bring up, don't know if anything can be done about it. I've been sailing out of Fremantle early in the war in a Sargo class sub. I recently was offered a new command of the USS Greenling. The thing is though I was transferred to Pearl but the patrol area I was given was still in the Java Sea. I've added a screenie to illustrate. One thing to note, I transferred to Midway to be closer to the action, so to speak. :D

I don't know for sure, but I think this has been a bug from the original stock game.

I thought that was you that mentioned that. You ~are~ doing a lot on this project, and I thank you - very much. I feel like a pea amongst giants here. Does any of all that you're doing "translate" to your own project Capn? Also, if you need a pinch of help (I'm not much at modding), just "call". I can do research, some audio work, or test drive a boat to the bottom of the sea. Done that a few times lately... :haha:

btw, I almost forgot, not all of those German vessels give you a "sinking" credit, the Z being one, and now I've forgotten the other... I'll just have to go play it again tomorrow early...

No sir, just an FotRS campaign from Pearl, December 8, 1941, set to whatever is above "Easy"... "Moderate"?? "Normal"??... whatever normal is... This is my second "Real" mission... Remember, the first one, I got a haircut from that liner, and I had the magic disappearing command bar?... Most likely mod soup in that, so I re-did everything, and started another "Real" patrol. I call it "Real", in that I'm trying to do what I normally do when playing the game, and not get seen on the surface, or blow the tanks in the middle of a Gaggle to Haggle with, that kind of stuff. Just quietly blow stuff up, and sink things, then disappear for a time...

I've had that happen also (not in FotRS yet), and more than once. I believe mine has been in stock also, but I'm not 100% certain of that... One of them, I had to be there by a certain date, and missed it by a mile - err, days... - like the timeframe would have been good coming from Fremantle maybe, but not Pearl. You have to go get fuel right away, if I remember correctly... and I don't like having to sail between and around all those islands...

No, I've not tried the "802_Emulate_Stock" D/ling now.

All of my missions are "What if". I pay very little attention to hysterical fact. :D :03:

I can't find that file in the Download section. Where is it? Thanks!

Not sure which your referring to, my missions or the sound file. However, they are both in the WIP folder. :D

Curse you cdsubron7. Was just killed on your S-boat mission. In typical TMO 1.7 manner the Momi DD sautered over top of me not even pinging. I, thinking I was safe quietly moving at 100 RPM at 140' and never having been sighted, thought I was pretty safe as he never pinged me once. Wrong. Superman spotted me with his x-ray vision and the first couple of depth charges sent me to the briny deep.

S-boat went to 1000' before crushing too! That zooming sonar view drives me crazy. Keyboard commands turn the bearing too fast and using the mouse wheel is so much more precise unless you can't use the sonar because the view is zooming in and out!

:arrgh!:........ :D

I'm assuming that the mission was Aparri Bound?

Oooohhh... I bet it was... that's the one where I was in a hurry (aren't I always??) wanted to go chase the cripple, and thought the devil DDs were gone too, so I "snuck" up to PD, stuck my nose out of the water, only to see the side of one of the two destroyers completely filling the glass, sittin' still havin' a smoke, waitin' on me to show... The other was about 600 yards behind me, just a-trollin' right up to me to start dumpin' cans on me as soon as the other DD feller got out of his way. Me, being at a dead-stop in an S boat 50 foot down, didn't stand a chance. I don't think we even made it to 150 foot at maybe 3 knots when the cans started going "BOOM" all around... I do not recall how deep the boat went before the lights went out, but it wasn't that far, since there was a hole in the forward upperdeck, just in front of the Control Room, "We have significant hull damage, SIR!" "MEDIC!". Water everywhere. All kinds of noises, and it sounded like three destroyers' worth of depth charges were going off, all at once... Didn't last that long for me, though. I think we were probably gone before we got to 300...

I'm just now getting to sit down and go back out on patrol, and try to find me something to shoot at. I'm wondering though, if anyone has noticed the game's settings change on them? I keep getting set back to "Low" on the game play stuff, with unlimited air, fuel, torps, etc... ??

cdrsubron7 08-01-16 11:09 PM

Well, I'm happy to see that you guys are enjoying my missions so much, I think. :03: :haha:

I've started work on a new set of five missions which will be based in the Aleutians. I finished up the first one this evening. I still have some fine tuning to do on it before it's ready. I call this first mission "Aleutians Gauntlet".

:salute:

propbeanie 08-01-16 11:15 PM

... "Gauntlet"??... gulp... as in "tough" leather... open challenge even?... as in "you probably won't survive this one anyway"... ??

Look at it this way, pb. It will be a challenge.

Yeah, the mission name lied. I was Davey Jones Locker bound.

Warning! Just like TMO, FOTRS Ultimate is NOT a reality mod as far as enemy AI goes. They can and will attack you with deadly accuracy without pinging once. I had been under the impression that FOTRS escorts were pretty benign until riled. Obviously, in a mission, with veteran crew that changes.:haha:

Obviously I gotta be a bit more stealthy......

Great mission. Lots of replay value there. After I dry off!

Sorry, should have been more specific. I was referencing the 802_Emulate_Stock you said you were downloading. Is that for the new FOTARS only? That would explain it.
