Hi!
I tried the OLC GUI 1.2.1 now once in the training mission... realizin that pesky freighter changes speed now and then... TOO often :damn: too dumb :nope: the GUI works fine! I guess I have the basics learned now... time to learn the finesses! Will try it in fight today and see.... So far..... GREAT WORK!!!! But sad thing is I cannot use the doublemasttool.exe as my PC tells me to "get" or "download" a vrsion of -NET Framework.... I guess I don't have that.... EDIT: hang on... working on it.... EDIT 2: installing .NET version 2.0 right now...hope it works out good Works! |

While we're sortof on the subject... GWX 2.1 will include SB's camera mod, but the OLC GUI doesn't/won't. I don't like/use SB's camera mod, but I wouldn't mind making the GUI compatible with it if it didn't have any adverse effects. Unfortunately it does have an adverse effect: it destabilises the binoculars, which is a big problem for me because I like to shadow convoys at long range with a bit of TC, and this won't be possible if the binocs are rocking around at 32x speed. |
I had .NET 1.1 and needed 2.0 but that has been made clear already
well.. I did some testing and though the mod makes the game really a lot more realistic I miss some things from "stock" GWX 2 This mod just is different .. need to try around and see how I get along... sadly right now it is not as much fun as it used to be though I normaly get something out of more demanding mods/games. (from 10 shots I missed 2 I normaly do not miss with the help of my WO/WE/WA whatever... the guy on the weapon controls  .... seems this is the little difference ;) ) I just miss the active map with the ships where I could see where and/or if my torp has hit or missed (like I have in GWX without sacrificing % realism :shifty: ) The first time I played with OLC in a big convoy I lost myself totally within the convoy not knowing what target to pic... taking the solution by hand takes still some time... :rotfl: This needs some extended testing :yep: Will report the next days. Still my oppinion this is a great improvement... I would just like to have the ships on the map like in GWX2 ... but that is just my little wish.... Keep the good work up! |
Grayson, if you want ships on the map just go into your realism options and enable them. The mod doesn't stop you doing that. Nor does it stop you using automatic targetting if you want that. |
Just downloaded this and its great nice work... still trying to actually figure how to use it correctly, even after watching the video I'm still left scratching my head in places! Will have to watch the video a few more times I think!
Going for a 100% realism career tomorrow! Wish me luck! :arrgh!: |
Good luck! :arrgh!:

Good (bad? :hmm: ) news, people! A talented modder here at subsim (whose name I'll keep private for now ) has offered to find out how to destabilise the UZO. This is something I already tried to do but... failed. Anyway, I reckon it'd be a nice addition. The only problem I see is that this would make getting the range from the marking lines on the UZO more difficult in rough weather than in calm, and while I'm in favour of making it more difficult overall I would rather the weather was not a factor. Thoughts?
Steel Tomb, in the other thread you mentioned scope stabilisation being necessary for the OLC GUI to work... and yes that's true for the scopes. The attack scope in particular, because it has a range/aob finder - but the UZO does not. I'll be releasing another version regardless because after more playtesting with 1.2.2 I've noticed some things which could use a little graphical polish. |
Not private anymore.
OLC asked if it can be done. I'd say any Camera can be destabilized to a certain extent. Given the choice........... I'd destabilize everything. My personal install is nearly like that now. |
Did someone say destabilized binoculars? That was one of the (very few) things I liked about SH2.
Privateer, if you can destabilize everything you'll be my hero! (At least for that day, as if that really matters to you at all) |
Cannot pull down the instrument......
:hmm: Sorry guys, Why I cannot pull down the silver instrument 4 the revelations? The manual says just to click and pull down, but doesn't works......
Tnx! and sorry I really don't understand, of course I click ON the instrument..... |
