I was watching a recent YT posting on Hendrix and it mentioned that Jimi had stated a certain San Francisco band was his favorite; the band was The Ace Of Cups, an all-female band, arguably one of the very first all-female rock bands ever; I recall seeing them back in, IIRC, 1968 in San Francisco at some block party (SF block parties were awesome then; the first time I ever heard of Santana was his band's name at the bottom of the bill on a flyer for a Mission District block party); I had completely forgotten about the AOCs over the years/decades, but seeing the YT posting mention made me look them up; at least four of the five members are still around and, apparently, they have done something they were unable to due back in the 60s: record a studio album; now in their 70's, they still play their instruments and still have really good, strong voices...
