Actually, it's not "their" money, never was. It's our money. If there has to be a stimulus check, I want mine be because it's a fraction of the money I already sent them.

It would be better if the money only went to those who honestly need it. But a. no one wants to investigate who needs help vs those who claim to need help, and b. everyone will claim to need help.

I get taxed on $1400.00 I did not ask for nor need. I give it to the church. Which turns into a tax write-off. The church puts it to good use.

AJPM: Associations Between Governor Political Affiliation and COVID-19 Cases, Deaths, and Testing in the U.S

Quote:

Conclusions:
These findings suggest that governor political party affiliation may differentially impact COVID-19 incidence and death rates. Attitudes toward the pandemic were highly polarized in 2020. Future state policy actions should be guided by public health considerations rather than political expedience and should be supported by a coordinated federal response within the new presidential administration.

Meh, I just finished listening to the Presidents congratulations to JPL who did a much better job recording all of the things he said. Including what the nation has accomplished such as "how we beat back COVID". It's a miracle I tell ya and all rainbows and unicorns from here on out, time to move on.

I imagine the new political drama they have to fix is the other one they created, job loss and inflation. And depending on how each State managed their COVID response will determine how fast their economy can recover.

You're missing the point of the stimulus. :yep:

It isn't about who deserves the money, its about spending the money like drunken sailors to prop up the local economy. :yeah:

Go to your local garage and get some new hitch nuts for your pick-up truck, invest in a new snow shovel at the local hardware, go all out and buy that brand new mail box while you're at it.

I was trying to figure out how to spend the first stimulus when the light bulb went off (which I replaced) and when I went to the dentist for my annual cleaning, I said "Hey Doc, you're a business, right?" "Yep." "And, you're still local, right?" "Yep again.. Why?" "Well, Doc, I think you just won the lottery. Let's talk about my gnarly tooth and expensive ways to fix it right".

:D

It's a garbage study - the sample size is way too small if we are talking 50 US states and DC. No correction for population size, specific implementation of restrictions (or not) and when, nor in the density of medical facilities in each state. The other thing they aren't accounting for is population exodus from states with high incidence by people who unknowingly brought covid with them, and the associated accordion-effect in transmission once they arrive. Nor the effect of population movement back and forth between states throughout the year.

They look at the wrong data points to draw a predetermined conclusion. Correlation is not causation.

Looking forward to the maternity flight suits coming to the Air Force near you. Honestly Joe Biden, what the hell are you doing? Send pregnant women up in fighter aircraft to fight our wars? Trump might have been a dope but Biden is completely and utterly lost.
