The left valve is entrance (air), the right valve is for exhaust and in the middle is something like a control valve (diesel injection) or, based on the location at the cylinder head, a mechanic for (spark) ignition. For that I truly believe the sequence of the outer valves is the same as in the youtube clips... |

the animation looks good so far, but if you keep that cycle in real it would propably kill the cylinder head. Now I have a technical reference myself to give a helping hand... here is a diagram for your four strokes: The three pusher (Stößel) are for 1) Einlassventil (Intake valve) 2) Rollenabhebenocken (Interrupter or Timimg Cam) 3) Auslassventil (Exhaust valve) ............ 1.T. 2.T. 3.T. 4.T. 1 Valve (L): ---ö|os--|----|---- 2 Valve (M): ----|----|----|---- 3 Valve (R): ----|----|----|öoob ............ u o |u o |u o |u o piston.....: _/-\ _/-\ _/-\ _/-\ The legend for the valves: ö = is opening o = is full open s = is closing b = right at the beginning of the movement to lower cylinder position the valve is almost closed As you can see, the middle "valve" wasn't used for a combustion of the cylinder. It was a mechanic to be able to let the engine rotate reverse. The lower crankshaft was rotated several degrees to change the engines timing when operating reverse. Kaleun_Endrass Ich habe die Schematick oben in Excel dargestellt. Ist es möglich dass du mir das so darstellst wie oben. Damit kann ich die Position der Stößel gut erkennen. Was für die Simulation wichtig ist . Denkst du das der Motor gewisser Vibration bei Vollgas Ausgesetzt war. Und der Winkel der Stößel dach oben und unten, ist der o.k.?? Gruß Tomi. habe ein Update zum Motor und zu den Steuerzeiten. Der mittlere Stößel treibt das Anlassventil, durch das der Motor mittels Druckluft gestartet werden kann. Sobald der Motor zündet, werden die Anlassventile nicht mehr von der Nockenwelle mitbewegt und der mittlere Stößel u. Kipphebel bleiben stehen. Habe eine Excel-Tabelle hochgeladen, in der die Steuerzeiten für alle 6 Zylinder der Backbord und der Steuerbord-Maschine stehen. Die Zahlenwerte in den Zellen sind in mm und bezeichnen den Hub der Stößelstangen. The middle push rod moves the starting valve, which is used to start the engine with pressurized air. As soon as the engine is firing itself the starting valve isn't moved by the camshaft any longer and the middle push rod and rocker stand still. The uploaded excel file contains the timing for all six cylinders of the port and starboard engine. The values of the cells are in millimeters and symbols the stoke of the push rods. |

as said above, the sequence does not bother me at the present stage of development. Most important for me was to link different speeds of animation to different speed settings. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...engine_002.jpg Meanwhile I´ve been able to link engine animation speed to engine order telegraph settings. This is a short preview. It is still buggy, but it works. The animation does not show correctly in this video, because of the frame rate. The scene has been captured at 60FPS (FRAPS does not support higher FPS) and been converted to 30FPS to match YouTube requirements. You should see the valves blurred at high speeds. ;) Regards, DD |
