It's tough being an addict.

Just install AIL's Officer icon AFTER OLC GUI and it will work fine. I use Carotios's icons that way.

I just came back to post that myself. I tried it, and it works fine.

Thanks, OLC, but I looked at that before. The big dials are fine, but that's not the version that clears the screen. I'm going to try that myself later. I figure I'm not actually playing for real right now, so what have I got to lose?

Superb work

Gezur(Arbeit) 02-13-08 11:24 AM

Sometimes when i switch from periscope to a different pasition in my boat an reopen the TDC it is bugged, i cant configure anything anymore and the TDC datas changes, when i turn the periscope, normally it should not, when its opened. This happend several times, after i restarted the game it worked fine again. But you only change the data and look through the periscope when you atk or being attacked. And it once happend when a Heavy cruiser went by....man i was frustrated :(

I like the mod ;) But the bug sucks....

Gezur(Arbeit) 02-13-08 11:40 AM

oh...lol ... Sorry

TY :)

Gezur, if you manage to find a way to consistently replicate the problem, let me know (I'm still waiting for it to happen to me ). In the meantime, the workaround should keep you going.

onelifecrisis Are you trying to give me a Heart Attack ! :D

I could kick myself for not useing this mod sooner. :damn:

There should be a emoticon for kicking oneself in the butt.

When I first saw mod and screenshots I was intimidated and thought to myself " TO COMPLICATED " boy was I wrong.

Thank You for your hard work and Great mod.

Hmm i dont know how to replicate it ^^ It seems it happens randomly, but i will have a look at it more closely ;)

And its a really good mod, bad i didnt experience it before...the calculations are much better than in stock or normal gwx2.0 (the one i play with). And the new Observation periscope rocks 2. (but the textures of the Atk. periscope are a bit unsharp :( but thats not the problem:D )

Tally Ho! :arrgh!:

Excellent

Just watched the tutorial all the way through. I've got a hell of a lot of learning to do.

Great piece of work. Don't know how you do it but well done.

Hmmm, I haven't tried this mod but I think it is about time that I did with my GWX 2.0 install. This mod really sounds like it will add to my u-boat experience. Gotta get back to port so I can roll back SH3 Commander ad install this mod with JGSME. Damn this wait. :damn:

onelifecrisis 02-14-08 09:28 AM

lol @ FIREWALL

Thanks Max Quad. Once you get used to it, it does become second nature :yep: (well for me at least ;))

Salvadoreno, you need the divx codecs - as explained (with a link) in post #1 ;)
There's a lot of info in post #1; it's become a sort of addendum to the readme, so you might want to skim over it.

Dev Update

I've played through a 3-week-long patrol with the blue lines which I previewed a few posts ago. It was quite an active patrol (12 ships sunk for 70k) so I got a lot of practice with them. I think they're a great addition, so they'll be in the next release (thanks don1reed for suggesting this).

As for the horizontal line... well the recent OLC-GUI-bashing in Mikhayl's (excellent) S-boot thread provided me with a much needed wake-up call. There really is no point trying to please everyone and I should stick to what I think is best for the mod... and I don't think this idea best. I like not being able to tell exactly how many marks there are to a number of decimal places. For me, this results in (what I believe to be) realistic hit/miss ratios at various ranges (given that we're already blessed with perfectly behaved torps in SH3). Sorry guys.

Finally, I want to announce that a "light" version of 1.2.2 will be released alongside the dark.

Cheers,
OLC

Same here! I won't ever use it, but it'll be a relief to get it out there.

I realised it wouldn't actually be much work and thought, for the benefit of some of the laptop players... why not. :)

I haven't been following that thread but anyone bashing the OLC GUI obviously doesn't have the patience for such an excellent set of tools(and great interface)and should just move on to what they like.

Keep up the good work...it's appreciated by the masses.

Eric
