Hi, guys. I was just wondering if the old "maximum range at current speed" info is in the game and I cant find it or if it would be a good addition for 1.29... in SHIII it was under the nav officer reports and I wore it out in those type IIs. In SHIV, you never know how much range you have and the voyage from Pearl to Japan at 1/3 sux!

Shift-g or ctrl-g, I can't remember which.

I presume you have the Camera.dat downloaded, just point (STEP 3) the minitweaker to that location (where ever you saved it)

That's Ok... what I'm not understanding is how can I point a *.dat file when MiniTweaker open only *.txt. May I "transform" *.dat to *.txt? And how?
In the forum people talk about cameras_dat.txt... I can't found such file my SH4 folder...:-?

Thank you for helping me...

RFB has the ability to start at Dutch Harbor, and patrols off attu, etc.

I can't see any actual traffic there, has any been added?

RFB also adds in patrols of the Marshalls, etc, but there is no traffic there in the RFB campaign files that I see (the waypoints look pretty "stock."). I was thinking about adding traffic to both those areas soon and didn't want to reinvent the wheel. I was also thinking in terms of what might be most RFB compatible if I did so...

(hey, I'll admit it, I want to play easily with my campaign layers on top of RFB, lol.)

I'll take a stab at it - it's really a two-step process. FIRST, you need to download the appropriate "tweak file" - that is a .txt file, and in this case it's called "Cameras_dat.txt" and can be downloaded from this thread: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=114049

SECOND, you need to have the minitweaker program installed (I assume you already do)

You already have the cameras.dat file - it's in your SH4 install (in ...Data\Library folder).

The .txt file is just the set of instructions that the minitweaker program needs so that it can act on the .dat file - you don't have to worry about converting from one to the other or anything. All the minitweaker program needs to know is (1) where is your cameras.dat file you want it to act on (click on the "..." button near the upper right corner and browse to your SH4 install directory - you can just point it to the parent SH4 directory - it will find the file in the right subdirectory); then (2) which tweak (.txt) file it should get its instructions from - this is where you point it to the "Cameras_dat.txt" you downloaded.

Then, all you have to do is choose the parameter(s) you want to change from the drop-down box on the left side of the minitweaker program (in this case, you want to pick "RadioRoom_Hydrophone" from the drop-down box - when you do, you will see a list of parameters show up in the window on the left under the drop down box. You click the one you want (in this case, "AngularAngle ="), and then enter the new value you want (in this case, probably "75" to pull the camera back to stock view) in the "New Value" box on the right side of the minitweaker program. When you hit the "Save New Value" button to the right, the minitweaker program automatically changes the .dat file, and you're done!

Just close out the minitweaker program, and then use file manager/explorer to browse to the Data\Library folder and delete (or move somewhere else, outside your SH4 install, if you want to keep a the backup copy) the "copy of cameras.dat" file that the minitweaker program created during the above process (without telling you) - if you don't get that "copy of" file out of there, the game will use it for some reason instead of the new/tweaked one the minitweaker program just made.

Voila! You're done!

Good luck!

Disable Manual Torpedo Targeting

Hi,

Please explain what I am doing wrong. I am trying to play through a campaign with RFB 1.28. In the game setting before I start the career I uncheck manual targeting. However, when I start the career the auto targeting never works. It's like it defauts back to manual. Until I am better at the calculations I want to play through a whole campaugn with the manual targeting off.

Is there a way to turn off the manual targeting in a career in RFB 1.28 so that it stays that way?

Please let me know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks much.

I think it would be quite cool if tater worked with beery to tweak RFB campaign layers, what do you think beery ?

Make this real. Plan the course. Measure the distance to the range end, make a note. Than travel with any speed but constant trough at least 5% fuel and than measure once again the distance left. You'll have a distance past divide by percentage of fuel and that’s it.

Hello,

The game setting are not available for a career. In order to define the parameters of your career you have to choose them in the Captain's desk before starting a mission. Just point to the radio on the the rack on the left of the desk... and make your choice. That's all! Now you can begin your career!

Good hunt!
