Can't say that I'm too excited about the film with 6 days to go. There was far too much sunlight in the trailer (sounds stupid I know, but the total amount of time spent in the sun stretched over four films was about thirty seconds,) every other snippet was of some grandiose special effect, and it is Cert15. Do people even make Cert18 films any more? The 3D thing doesn't bother me too much, though I still maintain it is pointless in most cases and much better suited for gaming than movies.

Oh well, at least I won't be disappointed if it sucks.

The French press screening was today and the first impressions and reviews are
surprisingly mixed, ranging from big disappointment to average to amazing.

One of the members over at avpgalaxy saw it too, so kinda waiting what
he says about it. :hmmm:

Prometheus 2D Review

I will leave the 3D to someone else who watches that version.

Well this is going to be tricky..

Is there a direct link from Prometheus to ALIEN? No, if your thinking in the terms do we find out how they got on that planet (LV428 ALIENS) and what happen. I can safely say that as I'm not giving anything way by saying that.

Right moving on..The Space Jockey (ALIEN) Engineers (Prometheus) sorry folks I can not say anything as there is a damn good reason which you will find out on watching it.

Weyland-Yutani Corporation funds the mission to find our beginnings and something else which I can not say, It's set on LV 223 a totally different planet from ALIEN.

Is it as good as ALIEN? Well I classed ALIEN as Brilliant but this is not brilliant it's good to very good. Some points about the film I did not like and it raised far more questions than answers, so is there room for Prometheus 2? Yes without question, once again you need to see the film to understand that one.

Ridley Scott states..."You will have experienced something completely unexpected." Well I have to agree, this film dose not feel like the ALIEN film.

Worth Watching? Yes as it tells the story of the Space Jockey/Engineers and the cast was not bad and Ridley's Directing is of the high standard we know.

Gore? Not a great deal, just one moderate scene.

Do we meet the ALIEN we know? Well once again can not say.

Score 7 out of 10 at the moment still pondering over this one.

BTW: UK folks I noticed when I went to see the film the cost for 3D was more than 2D. :hmmm:

I'm honestly in no great hurry to see it but expect to within a week or so.

OK ta its just that my nearest picture house is a 30 minute drive away or you need to get two buses thanks to that evil cow thatcher, she and her goons closed my local pictures back in 1988.

STEED 06-03-12 05:39 AM

My one closed back in the late 1980's as two large towns opened up multiplex cinemas, three screens were no match for ten. I have to bus it over to the nearest one, by the way cost for the bus was £3.20 for a return, the film was £8.40 plus medium pepsi (No ice as that is a con, less drink) £3.22. :o

Good job I don't see many films.

STEED 06-03-12 05:48 AM

BossMark..

Are a hard line fan of ALIEN?

If so you will want to know about the Space Jockey/Engineers without the six month more to wait for it to come out on DVD/BluRay.

If not...can you last out?

I like the Alien films and as I have got most of June off to watch the football I think I will make the journey to the pictures and watch it :yep:

For nigh on £15 I'd want a copy of the film thrown in :o

I'm going to see it on Wednesday. 3-D booked along with, err, vibrating seats, apparently. At the very least it should keep me awake. I have form in cinemas for that sort of thing.

Along with the new Batman movie and the new Wes Anderson, it's the only film I'll probably go to see this year.

I have heard people who saw the 3D version didn't think much of the 3D as there was not a great deal of it and being charged for the 3D specs didn't help.

Not sure about those vibrating seats, your back make get a good workout. :DL

Never been to a 3-D movie before, can't say I'm all that bothered about it but we'll see. I'm not sure about the seats either.

Hoping to go see it this weekend, read a couple of reviews all positive about the film, giving it 4 out of 5 stars.
