Welcome aboard! :DL And hey, no need to leave if you don't like one game, there's plenty more here to stick around for. :hmmm::yep:
|
Please stay away from the personal attacks....even if you are leaving

Ok El Sid, your post is obviously a venting one, and you're very angry. I feel your pain.
That's why I always read reviews before buying. SH5 is getting nothing but 5 out of 10s and 2 out 5 stars etc... That's enough to stay well clear (for the moment). Don't throw your copy in the trash! In a couple of years it will probably be a very good sim. |
Giver it a year max and it'll be the best subsim ever made to date
|
Welcome El Sid !
Every real sailor is welcome :yeah:, i sail as often as i can, in real life. Give SH5 a chance, and try it in a year from now. Greetings from the baltic, Catfish |
If its that bad just go get a refund. This has got to be the easiest game to take back to a store considering the DRM issues.
But i think calling it the worst game ever is a a huge exaggeration. And you dont think the graphics are good? Maybe you need some new glasses old-timer :-) Quote:

This is year 2010 and graphics is average for a PC title. Of course, if you compare it with poor old SH3 it is "great". Clouds, sun, torp. explosion&splash, faces, ...it is not a " PC premier league "... |

However you are talking apples and oranges. Those are proper first/third person games. For maritime grpahics i have never seen better, more realistic looking than in SH5. If you could show me a naval sim that has same quality graphics I'll buy it (if the gameplay is decent). |

El Sid,
They are releasing another patch so it shows they are working on this game. Take your copy back for a refund. Wait about 1 year. Repurchase for 1/5th the cost and enjoy with no DRM and maybe a better game. |
Worst game I bought was Far Cry 2. Lots of advertising done and the result was a boring, repetive shooter.
I think, once all the glaring bugs and mistakes are gone, SH5 will become a great sim. We may have to wait half a year or so. Cheers :salute: |

Never mind I saw it just now. Musta came up while I was away. Good news on the patch. |

I agree with ya, El Sid --> SH5 is a real POS at the moment. It's unplayable for this old subsimmer too. Game play sux. Realism sux. As released, it is an unfinished major step backwards in many respects from SH3. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone at all as-is.
Personally, I am still having a blast playing a heavily modded SH3/GWX. I've shelved SH5. Dunno when I'll try it again, but it will not be until after it is patched. Knowing UBI, I'll be shelving it again after the patch fails to fix basic flaws. HOWEVER, I agree with everyone who sees the potential for SH5. Potential seems incredible! Like many, I believe that in a couple of years, once it has been patched and modded ad-nauseum, it will be an awesome game playing experience that will finally best SH3/GWX/SH3Commander. Regards, Gumby (<--real life small boat sailor too. Props are for kids! Give me a sunfish, 15 knots and a following sea!) |

Is attacking a piece of software is now getting personal? |
