I know that you Chicagoians are a firey and impulsive bunch, and that you are starved for success after your Bears have spent nearly the past 20 years being the laughing stock of the NFL, but you have to look at things reasonably. Yes, you made the Bills one-dimensional yesterday. Of course, the QB that da Bears shut down yesterday was none other than the Canton-bound J. P. Losman. Impressive. Regarding Baltimore, I would take the trio of McNair/Lewis/Mason over that of Grossman/Jones/Muhammad anyday, and so would almost any reasonable football observer.

Mr. Grossman's numbers from yesterday: 15/27 for 182 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT, 101.2 QB Rating

Year to date: 93/152 for 1243 yds, 10 TD, 3 INT, 100.8 QB Rating.

Those are MVP numbers?

In terms of how great Chicago is, we will have to wait until week 10, where Chicago will visit the Giants, and week 12 where they will go to New England, to see. Outside of that, Chicago may very well have the easiest schedule in the league. They will make the playoffs, but I expect an early exit, as they will be, largely, untested and may not be able to respond when playing from behind.

EDIT: Note that I did not say that da Bears were a bad team. They are a good team. They are playing like a very good team, but they are not the best team in the league. Grossman is overachieving right now, and like all over achievers, he will eventually come back to earth. The sooner this happens, the better off Chicago will be. Nonetheless, one cannot deny that Chicago is in a very easy division with a very favorable schedule. Give them the NY Giants schedule and see how well they, or any team, for that matter, does.

Since your so in love with Steve McNair, I thought I'd bring his stats in for comparison: He has a 55.7 completion percentage, 3 interceptions, 5 TDs and 7 sacks, and is nursing a 75.4 QB rating. That puts him in the bottom half of the league. The Ravens are a good team, and they may even make it to the Super Bowl, if they can make it past the Colts, who IMHO are a better team. :know:
Also, I'm not really sure why the Giants are the big test for the Bears, they've only won half of their games, and all around aren't that good of a team.

Neal, I feel your pain. After watching them last night, it's entirely possible that they'll go winless this season. I figured it was a disaster when Davis hired Shell again, and so far, history seems to be repeating itself.

They were actually in this game, though. As usual, penalties killed them...and it certainly doesn't look liker there's any chemistry between Walker and the receivers...especially Randy Moss.

I actually went swimming after the first half, because I just couldn't watch anymore. I came back with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter, I turned the TV on with great trepidation, and I was stunned to see the Bears were catching up. Then I saw the punt that Devin Hester ran back for a touchdown, and I knew the Bears would win, I can't say why but I just did. I feel genuinely sorry for the Cardinals, especially the kicker (the most underrated position in the NFL) and Matt Lienart, who played a terrific game against a brutal defense.
But now I am sure, the Bears are destined for greatness. Good teams lose games like this, only the great ones find a way to win.:rock:

But that's really a testament to how great a team they are that they only need HALF of their team to win. Though the Cards still deserve credit for really choking.
