Well, to kind of wrap things up, I'll be happy when our troops finally return home, and I'll be happy when people stop dying -- ALL people, of ANY race or religion... And I'm sure you will be happy too.

You know, I hate arguing... I hate conflict... But every once in a while I do like to think critically and discuss about the ideals and actions of my own government.

I don't like to accept the stories that I'm told or the news that I hear. In my mind, I ALWAYS believe that my history professors are NEVER correct... Because they only know half the story... The other half is slowly but surely being erradicated in Iraq; squashed into oblivion... And soon, we will only have our own historians to listen to.

Once that happens, Iraq will forever be known as the Grinch who stole liberty, justice, and freedom for all... And the United States will forever be known as the Peacekeeper who shot the Grinch, and restored peace and freewill to the World.

I personally don't enjoy the belief that one nation is bad while another is purely good. "Good" and "bad" are all just relative terms anyways.

The defence industry is one of the biggest social programmes in I think most western economies.

Sure I think everyone would love peace but like communism it is an ideal that is unattainable due to human nature.

The problem is not that people don't want peace, it's that not everyone can agree with peace on the same conditions.

For example, Islam is, in principle, a religion/ideology that wants worldwide peace. However, this peace will only be achieved when everyone becomes a Muslim, which obviously is not acceptable to everyone. Then, in practice, you see that even though Islam wants peace within the Muslim world, sometimes they are hostile anyway due to different interpretations of Islam, or for more practical reasons (economical or territory).

That happened to Iran. But unless the Saudi's develop their own fighter jets, they will always have some dependence on foreign powers.

Indeed. I guess the next best thing would be to buy a figher manufatured by several nations like MiGs. Several nations (Russia, China, former eastern bloc) all manufature parts for them.

Yes but the EF program is more of a joint program while China just builds the stuff (well some of it they have an contract to build), just look at the J-7.
