Reminds me of a poem, also quoted in reference to the submarine service, but I think applicable to anyone who has a relative who travels abroad a lot in their employment.

They used to fight like cat and dog when he lived at home but seem to tolerate each other more now that he has his own place.

Great poem Jamie and for the record I kept the tears back until she switched her I-phone off record :DL

Did you manage to get both video filed Steve?

One of these cruises is to take a trip across the Atlantic and back.

Cruising is by far the most relaxing way to travel IMHO :yep:

Yep. Had the volume cranked up for something else and the horns nearly shattered my eardrums. :stare:

According to Mike Pinder, Thinking is the best way to travel. :O:

I'm currently writing about my time at sea for my kids, and yes, being on the ocean for days at a time is quite relaxing.

Had a discussion with my little sister about my goal

-Do it have to be a room with balcony?
Insider is much cheaper

-No! It have to be a room with balcony, so I can sit and have a dring and a smoke and enjoy the beautiful ocean.

And you have to understand that I have to pay about the double for a room, as I travel alone.

Great pics and videos :yeah:

@Steve - I've never had Yahoo Toolbar install itself via Firefox or any other program - and it does come with just about everything out there!!! Nor would I have it. But if it did it is easily got rid of.

Back OT - You're right about that horn, bloomin' loud. Bet the neighbours are glad that Eurodam doesn't arrive daily. :D

Jimbuna 06-09-12 06:09 PM

I believe they use the horn to scare icebergs away when they're in Alakan and Canadian waters :DL

Jimbuna, my old friend. How I wish I'd known about this thread sooner.

I am so entirely happy for you guys. It isn't every day that people get to see their son waving down from the bridge of a mighty ship.

What a tribute it really is to you and your wife as parents, and the values you've instilled in raising your children.

My hat is off to you and your family.

Just caught up with this thread again (been a bit under the weather, missed a few days). Have just one question about this picture:

Which control raises the shields and which one fire the photon torpedoes?...
