It does not guarantee security if you visit the dark corners of Internet just as FF or any other browser.
Its also good to know what processes your PC should run.
Probably the best solution is to use Linux or mac because they are the least targeted platforms.
Most important be careful where ans what you click.

This is true. Although i removed the anti virus off my home/gaming PC because it was eating system resources i wanted to save. Risky behavior, but i feel i know what i'm doing.

Ideally, if your on the extra cautious train:

- Run an Anti virus
- run a personal firewall. (This allows you to catch any unwanted inbound OR outbound data, this is about as important as running an AV itself)
- Visit only trusted sites
- keep your OS up to date
- Use any browser other then IE. :O:

( and if you jump on the "just how bad can the internet really be" train, install ReturnIL i linked to earlier. )

of that list, the only thing i don't do, is run an Anti virus because i'm a scrooge with my system memory. (WinXP with 2 gigs, these days thats minimal and not optimal for gaming)

I have two different antivirus programs, but I also run three different shut-downs before I start a game.

On the other hand the best firewall in the world doesn't do much good when IE tells you "Website blocked from downloading" and you click "Download File" anyway. :dead:
