If you look on top of the containers in the room you fought barret in, you'll find a credit chip worth 800.

Can't seem to find a straight answer anywhere to this one: Is it Steamworks only or is there a stand alone version available?

Drewcifer 08-28-11 03:07 PM

Couldn't tell you I downloaded my version off from steam. But Like the Total War Series... and I believe now Bethseda is doing it with Skyrim... even if you buy the boxed version its a 'steam' game.

I'm loving my upgraded 10mm pistol. I just might keep it with me the whole game. I've got a damage mod, silencer and laser sight. It's awesome! And thanks for the tip where the sniper rifle is. I've been looking all over since whats her name told me about it. The tip was well worth the 1k I spent.

Yeah, that and everything else, seems like. Cheers anyway.

I'm going non-lethal so I miss out on some of the fun weapons this time around... next time I'll check out that upgraded pistol. The sniper rifle I got.. just because spike tempted me to find it, I love how you can get up to that roof in a few clever ways... really makes the game that much more replayable and fun.

Ive loving this game - just as loved DE1 11 years ago, Im just up to fighting barret.

One thing bugging me, in all my travels I have yet to encounter a silencer weapons upgrade, I desperately want one for my 9mm pistol. Ive upgraded it in just about every other way possible.
Never did find that weapons dealer in Detroit niether :(, (the one mentioned by the guy in the downtown apartments after you saved his wife in the first mission)
Could not find him anywhere...

Almost happened to me too, i shot at the device in a panic, and hey it worked :)

Ok in Detroit the weapons dealers are in the gas station by the LIMB Clinic. And a guy in the apartment building across from the basket ball courts. You'll know you found the right building because you can only enter via windows on the fire escape.

Drewcifer 08-28-11 11:24 PM

Yeah there is three people standing by a fire barrel complaining about cops, if you click on one of them he says "You know what pisses me off I got all this heat from the cops and there is a illegal weapons dealer living in this building!" or some such remark close it, go up the fire escape and in the window.

On a sidenote are the Stun Gun, the Peps and the Tranq Rifle the only non-lethal weapons in the game? I mean I'm going completely nonlethal so I want to make sure I have all my toys.

JU_88 08-29-11 04:24 AM

Didn't like the tranq rifle, traded it in for credits so I buy some praxis.
Problem I'm having is that hostiles are usually in groups or pairs, so it is not possible to make non leathal attacks without raising the alarm. You either evade them completely or masacre them all.
E.g Detroit police station, I did not touch a soul, in contrast fir derelict row I killed everyone.
Agree there should be more non- lethal weapons, was is this 'peps' by the way?

Arclight 08-29-11 06:20 AM

It's a non-lethal rifle. Haven't tried it, but think it's supposed to stun and knock down targets. Kind of like a non-lethal revolver with the explosive rounds. There's one in the Detroit precinct armory, and a few scattered through locations once the story progresses.

Got an inventory full of stuff but I barely use any of it. Taking someone out is done with takedowns. If there's 2 close to each other, I stun one and do a takedown on the other. Consoles are simply hacked, got over 30 of both viral types. At least 3 of each grenade made into mines. I'm consuming powerbars and painkillers just to make room in the inventory. etc

Had 1 "firefight" in the game, with the 4 bangers in the convention center. Even then I only used 2 stun rounds and did 2 takedowns.

Try HMV, it appears cheaper than Steam too.
Amazon is even cheaper but depending on source you might get stung for delivery whereas HMV is free delivery(if there isn't one round the corner in every town)

NeonSamurai 08-29-11 09:10 AM

Probably still requires steam though.

Arclight 08-29-11 09:14 AM

Oh sorry; it does. Got the disc, benelux normal edition comes with the extra content of the augmented edition. Still requires Steam.

Tribesman 08-29-11 09:18 AM

Ah, I thought he meant as a disc not a download.
