BTW there's something about the expression on the face of the guy at the top right of that picture... almost like he's suddenly asking himself, OMG what have I gotten myself into?

Kinda like when I first realized that my favorite bar wasn't just any old bar. :o:rotfl2:

What is now called the 'Navy Dude' was originally called something else - I don't remember what. Then Dowly nicknamed it the 'Gay Biker Dude', and everybody called it that, so Neal renamed it 'Navy Dude'.

It's the same one.

Yeah, I think the Biker Dude is one of the members that wasn't gay. Have any of you guys ever seen the Village People movie, "Can't Stop the Music?" A terrible movie but for all the right reasons. It even has a young Steve Guttenberg in it... rollerskating... through Greenwich Village! :rotfl2:Oh and did I mention that Bruce Jenner is in it as well? In little, tiny shorts :timeout:?

Now that I've derailed the thread, back on topic, er what was the topic? Hmm, ladies, devices, Village People... saucey por, ah, yes! Saucey port names.

The music is great, I like 1970's disco music. The bass line with the disco drum beat. Great stuff.

Actually it didn't quite work out that way until much later, after I had become an established tenant in-progress. But yeah, the stronger come-ons did pop up (no pun intended - well okay it was) on occasion. After a couple of years though, the owner turned the place into a dance club and it wasn't as much fun anymore.

The big attraction for me was that the bar was situated on the second floor of a combination parking structure and business mall, which provided a great view of 8th Street and the life going on around there. God I miss my old town.

There never really was a point to this thread, we just don't have the heart to let it fade into oblivion. :D

Hrm... saucy port names. I'm fresh out myself. However, there is a town somewhere out west called Butte, and their high school football team call themselves the Pirates. Outside of town the road signs read: Welcome to Butte - Home Of The Butte Pirates. Do you see where this is going? :rotfl2:

Emden, rather than Brake with tradition, we should take this thread for a Hamburg, er.

Unfortunately, the pronunciation doesn't work so well. Spelled the same though! :DL
