Hi,

I have tried this mod and I like it a lot! Very nice  Thanks for the great work.

However, after using OLCE for a long time, I like the smaller moon much more (as far as I know, it is also more realistic). Can this be changed easily, e.g., by replacing the moon.tga or are changes with S3D to the scene.dat required? Any tip/help would be highly appreciated.

Again, thanks for the great work, makman!

Cheers, LGN1

hello LGN1,

yes you can do that, just place the moon.tga that you like in your textures folder and thats it ! (note that the reflections for the moon will be still active and maybe you wouldn't like this becuase will be a little ...bigger comparing to the new size of moon.you can disable them in the scene.dat -->sky--->moon--->waterreflection : set reflection=0 and refraction=0)
thank you for your words

bye

Hi makman94,

thanks a lot for the information  Do you know what the 'MaxVisDim' and 'MinVisDim' settings in the scene.dat -->sky--->moon--->waterreflection are?

Cheers, LGN1

haven't really figured out what these parameters alter...only guessing something about the angle that the moon will reflect on water

It's a pity, but I understand you. If you will have free time, try to do something with it.
Cheers mate.

Hi makman !

Firstly, thank you for the great MOD! :yeah:

Just me, the nights are too dark, one hardly sees what. My question: Can you make the nights a little brighter?

Or can you tell me the settings, how to make the nights brighter?

My monitor is actually set optimally, there is a 19" TFT.

And sorry for my bad english !

Best regards,
Magic

hello Magic,

i tried to make M.E.P as real as possible .
in real life the night is dark ...you can't see much and if you can't see much in real life you will can't see in M.E.P too !
also , you should know that everytime you run a different environment you have to adjust the brightness,contrast....gamma of your monitor .
a tip how to adjust your monitor for M.E.P is to look the last pic in first post...the one that the sub is exiting the port at night
the sub is black but the sea's color in M.E.P at night is one 'tone' dark blue . adjust your monitor looking at this pic untill you can hardly distinguish the difference of these colors (the sub's black and the sea's blue)
note that in M.E.P ....night is indeed dark.
if you find it ,after the monitor's adjustment , still too dark for your taste i am sorry but nothing i can do for you mate.to make nights brighter need a lot of work ...it is not so simply and i am done with environment moding

sorry Magic

Hello Makman !

Thank you very much for the Reply! I understand you, what do you mean. I will try the tip with the picture in the first post !

Best regards,
Magic

Uber Gruber 11-12-09 10:07 AM

Just a quick tuppence about the sea at night. When there's nothing for light to bounce of then the world is very dark indeed. However, light does bounce quite well of submarines and ships. This incident light turns objects into light sources in their own right.

Consequently, the sub and the sea around the sub should be lighter than the sea a little further away. So much so that one can easily sea theirway around the deck of boat in the blackest of nights.

Unfortunatley, I doubt this can be modelled in the game which is a shame because it would really make night time attacks more immersive.

And don't get me started on the plankton phospherence.

Tuppence Spent:salute:

:DL Hello Uber Gruber,

you are right Uber Gruber ....obviously you are talking about nights with full moon ! yes it would be amazing if moon's light was modeled but unfortunatelly no option for this (at least ,i don't 'see' it anywhere in files)

Great work makman94! :)

A question, is this compatible with the Real Weather Fix? The scene.dat file is in conflict.

Thanks.

hello Di3lta-303,

your question is 'strange' becuase the realweatherfix doesn't have a scene.dat (so ...it is impossiple to have 'conflicts') .
the realweatherfix is an .exe that will make the necessery changes to the values of scene.dat that you are currently using .so , you run the realweatherfix after you have installed the M.E.P and you are ready to go .
if you want to make MANUALLY the changes that the realweatherfix is doing to scene.dat here is what you have to do :
open with s3d the scene.dat of M.E.P and change the follows :
