Alas, we'll miss you. I'm planning to pull out all the stops on this meeting, will be promoting it heavily. As you can see, Bill Nichols is attending, that in itself is a good reason not to miss this meeting--the man served aboard America's first nuke sub!

Count on it. :yep:

This would be nice to attend, but doing a ball trip in July ( Yankees, Tigers and Jays ) so I don't think two trips would go over to well on the home front

Hopefully next time :yep:

I may be able to go

Neal, I might be able to go. Texas is kind of far but it would be great to attend. I have to see with what monsters of steam I will be working with though. So I can not say for sure just yet if it is a definite go. Are we allowed to go through the fire rooms and engine rooms on the Texas Neal? If not I would need a bunch of you to distract the people so I can sneak down there. We can even plan it out the night before:hmm: , "secret ops to get the snipe in the pit" <plays mission impossible music>

I live one state away in New Mexico. I plan on going. See you all there.

Yes, the engine rooms are open to the public. Plus we can schedule a special hard hat tour. At the 2004 meeting, after I left the group at the Texas to get the Bar-B-Que started, they corralled a docent and were given access to areas of the ship normally off limits to the public.

DAMMIT!!

I have my first child due the first week of October. =[

JScones 02-01-08 01:44 AM

Neal, I have some bad news...my itinery places me in the US during Sep/Oct. This means that if I can work in a "long weekend", you may have to suffer my presence for a few days.

BTW, how far away is Fort Worth?
