I have abit over 30megs of pics about BoB:SoW, many that I havent seen anywhere, just cant be arsed to upload them and forgot where I found that pack. :rotfl:

I don't really like to have to guess when the release will be. I like a set date.

An official website would be enough.

BoB:SoW will have a series of addons just like IL2, so you never know. ;)

The weather fronts in BoB:SOW will make things interesting. "Watch for the hun in the sun!" will take on a proper meaning with modern HDR and Bloom effects!

Will there be HDR & bloom? :hmm: Arent those DirectX features? AFAIK, BoB:SoW will be an OpenGL based game, just like IL2. After all, the engine is an upgraded one of IL2. ;)

 :nope: :nope: What! Thats stupid, OpenGL is dead. No one is making Open GL games anymore! If they want it to be half decent they should go with Direct X. Crazy. I was thinking it was DX9 at least.

All I know from what I've gathered from bits and pieces.

Nothing connected to this fact. Simply BoB is way more complex product and should be a basis for the years ahead.

No Linux. Our market niche isn’t so big like for the Quake-like games. And the profit we get is way smaller. So to spend a lot of time to rework or to make some time totally different basic code we can’t.

And of course the fact that the IL2's engine is optimized for OpenGL. I'm sure there will be a Directx9/x10 mode too as is in IL2 atm, but no idea if you can get the "perfect" quality running in that mode. We'll just have to wait for an answers from Oleg.

Steel_Tomb 03-14-08 09:18 AM

Hmmm yeah. Well lets hope it will have nice features. Does Open GL 3.0 have HDR etc?
