I don't know why the game does that sometimes
it has actualy been an on going thing since the game came out! Once in a while you will hit a camera view that will start the water shake and it won't stop. Sometimes switching from interier view to exterior will stop it other times you have to save then load the save to stop it. And sometimes switching to an underwater view free cam style stops it.
Other times it happens when you go to a ship you pick up on radar that is further than the crew's ability to see then it starts. But this has been something that happens off and on ever since I got the game to start with long before I did this work. Just one of those rendering glitches that dosn't always stop on it's own. No explination just happens even to me. BTW sorry it took me so long to reply wanted some game time in! |
Hit ctrl N key and the shaky water should stop. It also changes the weather.

I cant find any info, but can you lay this on top of TM1.3a?
|
okay vote time guys that includes you Ducimus
Do you guys want me to tone down a little the wave state 2 because that is where the 5 meters per second wind starts?!
Let me know and I will work on it. BTW: chopped50ford the scene.dat will over write anything it is installed after and visa versa that is why I presented a step by step way to do it manualy to the scene dat you are already using in your game. |

Captains log, July 24 2007, jelly water anomaly sighted off port side moving south at 0200, weather clear, wind speed 5 meters per second, crash dived for safety, surfaced at 0400, reported global warming anomaly to com to give to the IPCC, returned to course towards designated mission area at ahead flank to make up for lost time. ~lba ......:p I'm now on a career mission hoping for bad weather, but this game is so nice off time compression now it will take me a while. How about you? Seen the weather Gods? Is it the same in high winds and/or rough seas? Edit: Quote:

If you do have a mod that changes scene.dat, it's still pretty simple. Get & install SH3 MiniTweaker if you don't have it already, get and install the scene.dat tweak file, then make a temp folder on your desktop and create 1 folder in it named "Data". Next, with your mod installed that changed scene.dat, copy "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\Data\scene.dat" into the temp\Data folder you made on your desktop. Then run MiniTweaker and point it to your temp folder and make the changes. Save each change as you make it. When you've done and saved all the tweaks to scene.dat, quit MiniTweaker. Then go into JSGME and uninstall the mod that had changed scene.dat before, i.e. TM 1.3a or RFB or whatever. Browse to the Data folder for that mod, back up the original scene.dat file, then copy in the one you tweaked from your temp\Data folder. Finally, reinstall the TM or RFB (or whatever other) mod and you'll have the Living Ocean plus whatever was in the other mod! It's a little bit of work but well worth it! Did it this morning before work in 30 minutes with my eyes glued shut from a bad night's sleep, could have done it faster if I was actually awake. Anyway my point is, you don't have to make a whole nest of exactly-named folders. Just make a folder somewhere, and 1 more inside it called "Data", put your mod's scene.dat in the Data folder, point MiniTweaker to the folder above "Data", edit scene.dat, then put it in your SH4 mod's "Data" folder and reinstall the mod. As an alternative, you can skip making folders entirely. Uninstall your current mod and edit directly scene.dat in the mod's "Data" folder. Then reinstall the mod. If you don't like it, you can uninstall the mod again then look in its "Data" folder, you'll see "Copy of scene.dat" - that's a backup made by MiniTweaker before you changed anything. Rename it to "scene.dat" then reinstall and you should be back to where you were before! DH |
found the jsgme ver. and that's why my second post:D

Well I tried it and I like it, but the sea was too reflective for me, particularly in certain conditions when it may not be.
I liked the physics etc, but colour and appearance weren't for me. In response to people noticing the water shake, its due to camera movement.. still cameras dont see it but moving ones do.. |

It rocks, don't it? Unlike a lot of people here I've only been out on the open ocean once in my life, nearly 40 years ago. But I feel like I've been out there a 2nd time with this mod :D DH |
