Worried about how things look ????? Check the mirror after your first patrol

THEN you will really see some jagged edges ! :arrgh!:

Thatīs your opinion! Iīve played SH4, it looks fantastic and I donīt care about the jaggies. For me it doesnīt take away from the immersion, not even close.

Grand Theft Auto and the Battlefield series feature the latest graphical advances as well as amazing gameplay. However, these are games that have a huge user base and Deveklopers know that they'll sell alot of cpies of sequels to games like these. Sims however, are 'specialst' by comparison and thus they don't have anywhere near the same level of investment for development. The guys who created SH4 did so on a very limited budget. They had to use the SH3 engine for God's sake, and that is almost 4 years old! I think what they've created is a masterpiece! So, cut 'em some slack fellas huh?

Oh, I'm not angry...just dissapointed. I suspect the dev team did a great job with SH4. Doesn't matter...

For me (and many others, though not everyone), a lack of FSAA support is a basic, fundamental show stopper. I just can't take a game seriously that doesn't support it. For me (though not everyone), they may as well have limited SH4 to 256 colors! Actually, I'd rather have 256 colors with FSAA, than 16 million colors without FSAA! :)

Did SHIII not allow forced AA? Cause this is the first time I ever heard of a software Overiding Device Drivers if forced. I always have my drivers set to Forced. Never noticed a problem.

PICS for you all

Hey folks. Some images from SH4. All graphic options on max. 1280X1024 res.
IMHO I am a bit disappointed!:o

"I just received/bought SH4!"

Off topic alert. I do apologize guys, but the entire page above has drifted away from the thread. I would like to be able to learn: who, how, and where our crewmates are getting their games. I hope to have mine about the 23rd by UPS from Amazon's Subsim link. Looks like CompUSA will not have it on their shelf for a while, since they are sold-out on pre-ordered delivery orders and have to get more in to stock the shelves. I take that to be a good sign that the game will be popular.

That's not what's happening. The method they've used for post processing certain effects places restrictions on the way the framebuffer is handled and these restrictions are incompatible with FSAA. Bottom line...no way to turn it on, forced or otherwise.

This problem has been seen and hotly debated in the forums for Ubi's last three games. Ubisoft is quickly becoming synonimous with "jaggies". ;)

The good news is, we won't have to wait forever. I'll bet you anything that SH5 will support FSAA. In the long run, they will have to start supporting it in their games, or eventually...Jaggiesoft will go out of business.

Wow, what scenes!

Thank you BR Anders. Beautiful shots of the Wasp and a Northhampton. I am not disappointed at all. Good hunting.

I compeletely agree Tigrone. This thread has run completely far from the purpose of this thread.

This thread will be unstickied and renamed shortly.

*EDIT* Sorry for cluttering up the thread.

Mods, go ahead and delete all my posts if that helps.

I can't wait for SHIV.
I could care less about FSAA, gameplay is what really matters to me.
I am happy with SHIII and I look forward to getting SHIV.

Thanks UBISOFT for continuing to publish games like these.
