AMAZON.COM
Release Date: March 15, 2007

At least Amazon is showing a release date for it. Still not available, but I have it on my Wish List at Amazon from the Subsim link; and, like Neal, I'll patiently wait for it to activate in my shopping cart.

Anyway, I'm still going to rely on Amazon, when they finally are able to turn on their preorder again. But I would be interested in your thoughts….

Hi Neal

I for one will be ordering through you if you pull that one off. I would very much like the CD/DVD with the historical movie. For one i don't care much about how the parcel looks like, rather what it contains.

My order is based on it getting shiped to Denmark..

There are only 3 places I will pre-order games from (not in any particular order):

1. The actual company that produces the game.
2. Gogamer.com
3. EBGames.com (and this one is iffy)

The reason I didn't mention this site is because I don't think I have never pre-ordered anything from here before (maybe Dangerous waters..which arrived right on time), but I can't remember. However, I would definatley be willing to pre-order SHIV from here if the opportunity presented itself.

BladeHeart 02-15-07 03:02 AM

For what it is worth....

I am in the UK.

I have already pre-ordered SHIV via the Subsim link; however, if Subsim can secure a guarentee for the bonus edition before the cut off date for the existing order, I am willing to cancel that order and purchase from Subsim direct, regardless of delivery date.

If it it helps, then it has been a pleasure to provide support for this venture.

Subsim Monitor 02-16-07 12:58 AM

Thanks Bladeheart, but what do you mean by "bonus edition"? The regular edition with bonus materials, or the super collectors edition with the metal box?

It's pretty confusing, if I were you, I wouldn't change your order. Thanks for the support, just remember to use the Subsim Amazon UK store search engine on future game orders, that will work for us and won't cost you anything extra.

cheers
Neal

I told him that most of the people who visit Subsim probably have already preordered the game through Ubi or some other website, so I don't think Subsim will be able to sell many copies, but I was still interested, under two conditions.

1. I have to know with a high degree of confidence when the game will be shipped to Subsim, so I can give a date to people who buy it.

2. I need to have a guarantee with regards to the "bonus materials" and "Collector's Edition" variety. I doubt they can get this info, since Ubi has not told anyone what the heck they are doing. I do not want 100 people to buy the game from Subsim and end up mad about missing a $1 map or some geegaw. Ubi was pretty smart to stir this up.

Chips… I miss you.

Neal,

If someone is going to Pre-order, then I would think that he or she would want to get the Collector's Edition and everything that would normally come with it, no matter where they get it from and obviously we don't want to get the game after everybody else, which is what it sounds like, if we get it directly from you.

Anyway, so I guess you're now waiting for an answer to your two questions. When do you expect to get a response?

P.S. You might be surprised how many folks will get it thru you, either by Amazon or otherwise.

hi Fred,

thanks, but I have not gotten an anser from Amazon, because he says his buyer is waiting for an answer from Ubi. I'm sure Ubi is hoping to sell a lion's share from their store, and I do not blame them, they get a much bigger cut that way. I'm advising folks to order where they feel most comfortable, do not take a chance and not get what you want. If a guy orders from Ubi and gets what he wants, good.

Once the game comes out and Amazon and Ubi are equal, I will clean off all the Ubi links in the forum and direct new buyers to the Subsim/Amazon store. That will work out ok for me, I think.

cheers
Neal

I always laugh when I see that on a gas pump: $2.08 99/100. Okay, if I buy ten gallons I'll save one whole penny. HOORAY!!!

This seems to only be available at the UK site for Ubi.com, but can be ordered for overseas delivery.

I think there are 3 versions, but some local/national versions might vary if there are different suppliers.:ping:

flintlock 02-17-07 03:54 PM

Yes, much confusion over this.

Here's one breakdown:

Deluxe Edition:
Only 3000 copies made available worldwide. Sold only through Ubi's UK store and shipped worldwide.

US/Canada
Get a regular, non-CE version.
Initially, all these copies will ship with extra goodies. At some point, some or all of the extra's will be removed and just the basic game contents will be included.

Collectors Edition:
Made available to the rest of the world with a few contents varying regionally.

Clear as mud.
