What does the folder path look like? It needs to have all the correct folders inside to lead to where it should be in the game.
I have sets of skins in my Date folder, and the path looks like this: Date/19400201/data/sea/all the individual folders for the ship skins. Or Date/19410603/gramaphone/radio for certain speeches to play at the right time. |

Any other guesses? I also just tested it by creating a bogus file under 19390904/data/Menu/OLC/Blech.tga, and it is not writing it anywhere into the SH3 installation. |
Did you roll back Commander before launching the game? Unless you are a serious modder it's best to select 'Auto Rollback'.
Silly question, but did you start the game using Commander? |

Also, I have moved the bogus file to my 19390801 entry, and it puts it in there just fine and removes it upon auto rollback. I haven't reinstalled SH3 Commander yet, but I'd like to make sure there isn't a problem here first. Everything else about it seems to function just fine, and I'd like to troubleshoot it as much as possible so that I can make sure this error won't come back again. |
Well, I'm lost. I hope you find the problem. :sunny:

Just checked, and there is an entry in between for 19390901 that doesn't have any files from JFO in it. And it is not loading those files, too.
I think I am just going to reinstall, and see if it works. |
Take the original?empty folder out and manually paste your folder in then refresh the screen to ensure it is in the correct datal order.

Used JSGME to completely remove the folder. Copied the contents of the JSGME ready file directly to the Date folder for SH3 Commander. Refreshed the folder for the Prize.tga file. I started it, and this did not work. Other ideas. Still haven't reinstalled yet, but I will try that soon if I don't get any other ideas. Reinstalled, still not working. Any other ideas? |
Ok, I have tried several combinations of things, and I am completely out of ideas.
The only question I have, that I could possibly think of that might lead me in the right direction: Does anyone know what part of what file SH3 Commander reads in order to get the current date of the patrol you are in? I can't figure out where that would be, but maybe if I could see where that is, it might answer some questions. Any one got any other ideas/possibilities? |
I as once wanting to put a change of skin for the Bismarck and Tirpitz and naturally I wanted Commander to change it automatically at the set time (provided I was not in mid patrol)....this never happened so I took out the default skin and replaced the skins of my choice in said folder and that worked.
I hope this is of some use/help to you. |
Please excuse me, but I just checked the 1st post of this thread and I can't find a download link. Could anybody please provide one? Thanks a lot.
