Hello Sir,
I'd go with anything you or others would advise tell you the truth ;) I'm still in awe at what's already available he he (talk about sitting on the fence ehh lol) Failing that maybe 3 choices after you've done some testing and screenies ??? Ohh btw, I am not 100% on applying links in this thread, But i have found some info about the nvid settings for 8800gts and it makes some sense of the settings/drawbacks of this card, Is it ok to do a link for other guys/gals using this card or is it best for me to pm ones i see using the card ?? Many Thanks Happy Diving Ciao Def |

I have the same problem! there must be a solution out there somewhere:sunny: |
the pictures some guys are posting are from
Work in progress stuff. The new sun halo and the new sky and water reflection pack isn't ready for release yet that is why it looks differn't from what some of you have.
Once it is done tested and ready we will make sure everyone knows it is available for download for your games. People testing stuff just wanted to make sure you saw thw progress that is being made for the mod. Back to my other question about signal light's spot light's and light houses does anyone care what I set them at or do you want to leave it up to me? |

It's up to you Leo. Personally I'm out to sea and do not look at the lighthouse to much. |
I was originaly trying to fix a problem with them

Also I had helped Torps with some things so he offered to work on some of the sound effect's for the ROW mod and is doing some great work with them. There will be sub creaks for under water that will get progressively louder as you dive deeper and he added an echo effect to them to make it seem a lot scarier while you are going deeper down. He is working on a lot of the sound effect's so it should be a nice add on for the mod. |
Sweet.

Some amazing things happening here.
Leo, great stuff with the lighthouses. Set it to what you think is best, but you should definately be able to see them from pretty far offshore. I salute everyone who's been involved with the things occuring here the last few weeks. An amazing effort, with amazing results. |

That might give you something to shoot for as far as how to set these things up - looking like more great work - keep it coming  BTW - the document I found is called "War Instructions United States Navy 1944", and can be found here: http://www.history.navy.mil/library/...t.htm#contents The searchlight info is in Chapter 8 "Night Actions". Chapter 9 "Employment of Submarines" looks pretty interesting too. |
thanks for the info Panthercules

Yeah baby! yeah! I'm a big sound lover and put this kind of stuff into the 1.4 patch wish list. Hope you can get some of those interior damage sounds working. Good luck. |

Me too man! Sight and sound really bring it together. |
Also working on the Ship reflections as well
Found lot's of parts of them that didn't match up just like the Sub's conning towers gray looks at a distance. Just time consumming because unlike the sub's there are at least 200 sub nodes for each ship to look through that is why they were missed.
Maybe mid week a new download for an updated Ship reflection Enhancment Pack. And BTW Jaketoox made a second Halo effect without the Camera Flair effect so there will be a choice on them once I get it all posted. |

Okay this is what I am going to set all the search light's at that I fixed
Okay this is what I am doing so far and testing. Like I said at the start of the post all Search light's or any kind in the game was set at a maximum of 200 meters for effective range and there is no minimal range effect's just maxmum.
I am going on 1.5 nauticle Mile base for the largest of the light's. So the big one's will be at 2778 meters the next level down in search lights will be at 1389 meters and the smallest of the lights I will put at 695 meters Keep one thing in mind here the AI has visual set up for the amount of light in the area for them to be able to see a target so going more than this might mean they will spot your scope sticking out of the water that much easier at night. They will now cast a reflection on the water and other object's unlike before and be very blinding when they hit you dead on camera view wise. I will be posting pictures of all the new light effect's lator on as I get them. |
