NoGoodLandLubber 03-09-11 05:13 PM

I didn't. The AI U boats were already following the convoy.
It can happen in GWX. If you see a map contact representing a convoy ,it is a big square. If , instead of this square you see a big circle then this convoy is shadowed by one or more AI uboats. If you manage to intercept it and attack you will be in a similar tactical situation.

Aah the Rodney. Beautiful ship. Especially when she's trying to submerge like a u-boat :D
Two patrols back I was gonna have a go at the Mediterranean, sailing from Lorient. But (as usual) I didn't make it past Gibraltar. So many ships there and so easy to sneak into, and this time the Rodney was just sitting there.
So I took her down with two torpedoes.
Although it's more satisfying when you can take her down on open sea, sinking a battleship is always fun to watch.

Jimbuna 03-11-11 05:17 AM

I bet you feel like a right plonker now Rodney.

EEEK! the rodney should alter course to port in this situation I.I.R.C as the other ship is showing her starboard side and therefore SHE is "Stand-on" vessel and the rodney should give-way.... :hmmm:

Err.... I'm detecting hints of sarcasm, but the message isn't clear..... :hmmm:

That's not the rodney (Only 2 turrets, with 2 guns each, Rodney had 3 barrels per turret, and thats aft, the Rodney had no turrets aft), and they're both going in the same direction, so the overtaking vessel (If it is even doing that) would signal which side it wishes to pass on.

Seems like we got a real-life sailors quarrel here... Take it outside gentlemen! Don't make me call Bernhard to intervene! :O:

You are VERY lucky finding an unescorted Nelson. This has never happened to me in all the years I have been playing SH3.
I assume you are using GWX or another supermod.

Um....
not really. Just a confused skipper <me who has forgotten a few minor details on his coll-regs.

As for the nelson, I was referring to the ship from which the picture was taken, and not the vessel crossing "our" path.
