Does her name Kamela mean horrible in Finnish and Dowly said yes to this.

No doubt that her name comes from what you wrote above.

I am aware of that, I was just answering a question. Kamala = "horrible" in finnish.

If she can succeed in turning campaign funding into votes she just might have a chance.

Kamala Harris shatters fundraising records, leaves Trump trailing

Fewer than 100 days remain until Election Day in the United States. The election campaign is in full swing, and it is a historic one.

Just a day after Joe Biden withdrew from the race for the White House, it was clear that Kamala Harris was heading for a record in terms of fundraising for her campaign. On 22 July, the media reported that donations to Harris exceeded £41 million. Shortly after, it was revealed that she managed to raise £67 million in just 24 hours, and the tally was still climbing.
On Monday, 29 July, it was announced that in seven days, Democrats gathered £165 million for the campaign. It was emphasised that this was a huge, record-breaking collection and a historic achievement - still unofficial but certain - by the Democratic Party's presidential candidate.

Harris's campaign team reported that the majority of the amount - as much as 66 per cent - was contributed by individuals who, for the first time in this election cycle, decided to support a presidential candidate. They did so after Joe Biden announced that he was stepping down, passing the baton to Kamala Harris.

American media also noted that over 170,000 volunteers joined the Democratic Party's campaign. These volunteers will encourage American citizens to vote for the current Vice President through various methods, such as phone calls and in-person meetings.

In June, when Joe Biden was still fighting for re-election, Americans contributed £104 million to his campaign. In that month, the Democrats' account had a total of £197 million.

Donald Trump also has reasons to be satisfied. As reported by "The New York Times," in July, the Republican candidate raised as much as £114 million.

It is a huge sum but significantly smaller than the £165 million the Harris campaign gathered after voters welcomed her candidacy with great enthusiasm, the American daily emphasises.

It adds that the Republican campaign account has a total of £268 million.

"It makes July one of the Trump team’s strongest fund-raising months to date, just off the sum raised in May, when Mr. Trump’s supporters responded to his felony conviction with an outpouring of donations totalling $141 million (£115 million)," recalls "The New York Times".

It shows that there also are many people in the US who dislike Trump - so that they evern embrace Harris, if for no other reaosn than to prevent Trump. With Biden one hardly would have gotten that impression.

But what I said about Biden-Trump is still true for me regarding Harris-Trump: its the choice between plague and cholera.

If you look at the political personnel in the leadership ranks of Western countries in general, you can see how dramatically the West has deteriorated in every respect. Its not just the US or Germany, its everywhere.

The choice between is certainly plaque or cholera. Ultimately, it's the one that has the experience locally, nationally and globally. According to Harris she has never been to Europe, Russia is a big country Ukraine is a small country. Giggles. Just her word salad is enough to know she has little understanding of anything. This includes the economy and border control. Two top concerns for voters. And she is now actively flipping what she said in 2020 so not to look so far left we can't see her anymore.

I find it odd that she was very active in cover up of Biden's cognitive decline. That means she is capable of anything. More than likely she was told what to do by Dr Jill, Pelosi and Obama.

There are too many concerns with Harris. There has always been concerns with Trump. Many unfounded. The voters know Trump and his oddball ways. In his 4 years was democracy abolished and dictatorship installed? Was a war started? Did the economy crash? Was the border open for all to pour in? We were told by Democrats these things would happen under Trump. They never did yet the Democrats today keep telling the voters the same thing.

What we will get from Harris is what we got in the past 4 years. Flying under the wire and not much usefulness. However, there will be a team behind her pushing her pen on executive order after executive order. At least Trump pushed his own pen on executive orders. Her past performance predicts her future performance. Mediocre at best.

She won't be getting your vote then :)

Yes, she will be getting mine. If I don't it will indicate I'm sexist and a racist. Well, according to some. Qualifications be damned.

I'm surprised but admire your honesty.

Jim, that was sarcasm. I'm not voting Harris or Trump. My vote does not count. Local or national elections.

em2nought 08-03-24 07:29 AM

I'm expecting to see the Biden-Harris administration do more in the next 90 days than they did in the entire rest of their term. Guaranteed income, reparations, drill baby drill, tax cuts, national healthcare, free transitions, free AR-15s for all, who knows what they will claim to offer in order to "buy" your vote. Sleepy Joe probably won't even be able to keep up with making the announcements. :har: The media will have a hard time wiping clean the evidence of all Harris' previous radical positions on every issue. She is in reality to the left of Bernie Sanders. :har:

Oh yeah, secure borders too! ROTFLMFAO
