Early war there were convoys between Norway and England. Even though it was a short hop, it was right on Germany's front porch.
VII's are fine against convoys. Quick and manueverable, with a decent punch. Read up on the recent convoy tactic threads to learn some tips. |

Liner going down
March 7 1944
Grid AM 73 U-522 IXC Realism 100% (with a little cheat to take screenshots) http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/2...rgoingdown.jpg The other one escaped. I am currently at 80m depth running silent but I am hearing strange noises from my hull. If I go down at least I will have a glorious death. UPDATE : When I finally escaped the game CTD before I had a cahance to save it! |
Such a loss.
Sometimes I wonder if the save game CTD bug was intentional on the devs part.... forcing us to play more DiD style. I'm not sure if I would have had the restraint to let that other one get away. I might have gone full bore to get to it, then dove like a madman. |

KM Leipzig 7 Sep '39 Moored at the repair facility in Wilhelmshaven for repair work after a battle with four Royal Navy Destroyers. On 3 Sep '39, Leipzig on station in the North Sea commenced anti commerce action off of the Northeastern coast of England. By 5 Sep. she had sunk 35,000 GRT of Merchant shipping and set course for home, low on ammunition. In the early morning of 6 Sep she was intercepted by a task force of four RN Destroyers. Despite being low on ammunition Leipzig fought off the attackers, sending all four to the bottom. She sustained heavy damage in the fight, and was not ready for duty until February 1940.
