The settings of the Dynamic Shadows are very complicated to adjust/tweak , I am still struggling with those Shadows settings

Did you mean quality of shadows or color of shadows?
I ask about color of shadows on water (too dark on water).
:shucks:

That's my opinion, too. :yep: For my taste it would look better if the shadow projected of the boat onto the water surface would have less contrast (not as dark as now).

W_Clear, I just wanted to say thank you and that your mod is fantastic. I'm using 4.5 and it's absolutely gorgeous. I have noticed that when I use the deck gun I get a large square graphical artifact that looks like a shell hit, only it is as big as the ship I'm shooting when I score a hit. I was wondering if anyone else was getting this as well? I'm using an ATI5770, and I did narrow it down that Env4.5 is the cause. I'll try and get a screenshot, but it's just a very fast flash, but it does kill the immersion.

This is what I made THE DEAKGUN HALLO.I am going to put it on the lightning

Hiya's,

Lovely work W :) (as usual) :D

Also getting the square frame layer when using the deckgun

Besides that i can't fault it so far

Captn Wilhelm 11-15-10 10:11 AM

it's Deck gun halo as posted above and is intended.. I was getting it too, and uninstalled the mod.

Gun FX isn't weather related.

Karasunx 11-17-10 11:38 AM

I found to get rid of the deck gun halo just delete these 2 files from the mod

C:\Silent Hunter 5\MODS\Environment 4.5 MOD\data\Textures\TNormal\tex\expl_hallo.dds
&
C:\Silent Hunter 5\MODS\Environment 4.5 MOD\data\Textures\TNormal\tex\expl_hallo_add.dds

That got rid of the artifact but left everything else intact.

W_Clear, I hope you don't mind the tweaking of your mod. I do love everything you've done, it was just the deck gun halo that didn't seem to fit. Thank you again, very awesome mod

W_clear 11-17-10 08:51 PM

If you like, you can adjust it。

In fact, I adjust its purpose is:Very difficult to see the deck gun fire hallo of the DD in SH5。

Karasunx 11-17-10 10:13 PM

Which file do you tweak in order to adjust it? I've been experimenting with the lines in the Light.cfg file, but I'm not very sure what I'm doing.

Refraction of the sun should be very bright, so I increased the brightness of refraction。

Which more realistic:(Fifth is old. Finally a realistic picture)

In my opinion this is the most similar to reality

PL_Andrev 11-26-10 02:42 AM

IMHO between 1 and 2.
1st is a little to big.
2nd is a little to small.

1.5 will be OK
:D

Zedi 11-26-10 02:51 AM

This mod is just crazy, most of the time I play the game only to chill out and admire the weather and the environment... it looks so real. Thanks W_Clear, outstanding job.. hats off :salute:
