It's in GWX but with OLC it isn't there anymore. I'm sure it's an easy thing to fix, but I just don't know anything about files and commands.

Well in that case, how did you remove those files? Because OLC doesn't touch them.

The files are in the Data\Submarine\NSS_* folders and are named "NSS_*_shp.tga"

That's not entirely accurate Meridian ;)

I didn't touch the images, but I did disable them on the map. I much prefer the Attack Disc + plotting tools to GWX's satellite uplink.

frenema, this has come up before and if you search this thread for "maps.cfg" you should find what you're looking for.

Meridian 03-19-08 01:34 PM

Ooooops. In that case I apologise. Didn't think about the maps.cfg.

dumb question:

some ships have the same lenght... 78,x

medium - trampsteamer a- small freighter (I do not know the english terms - playing the game in German language as I am German)

Just a dumb question: how will this inflict with getting the speed... cause imho the ships have in their models for sure different lenght... at least this is the impression I get....

I will do further testing as soon as I find a convoy

Yup. Not all modder-made ships have the correct mast/length values. I hear GWX 2.1 will have mast height fixes... no length fixes though.... but that's "last I heard" which was a while ago.

Lightning in the new OLCE

Hi OLC, re our discussion on lightning, here are some pix of it:

http://img377.imageshack.us/img377/2...ing3iu5.th.jpg
http://img377.imageshack.us/img377/8...ing1gl1.th.jpg
http://img377.imageshack.us/img377/3...ing2ad5.th.jpg
I managed to capture these stills. I could let you have an avi if you like, but I think these show the problem well enough. You can see the irregular shapes quite clearly. I have seen much larger ones but they wouldn't appear when I had the screen recorder running of course (sod's law). As I mentioned in pm though, the lightning forks appear accurately, no problem there. I get the impression these odd shapes are designed to reproduce reflected lightning on clouds.

My system (the bits that matter):
P4 3GHz
1GB RAM
ATI Raedon X1650 with AA, AF & GI enabled.

My active mods list:
GWX - Alternate Loadscreen - Full Circle
GWX - Lite Harbor Traffic
GWX - No Medals on Crew
OLC GUI for GWX 2.0 (1.1.5)
OLC Improved Wave Textures
Type IIA Camo_Graf_GWX2
U-boat
GWX - Main movie - 'Das Boot'
GWX - Late War Sensors Snorkel Antennas
GWX - 16km Atmosphere with OLC Night Sky Fix
The above arrangement works flawlessly, I only get the prob when I replace the 16kA fix with the new OLCE. RL has prevented me from testing the low and high res versions, ditto trying it on anything other than the GWX Narvik mission (need to find a storm somewhere), but I will when I get some free time.

Hope this helps.

Wrong thread.
Nevermind.
The screenshots look like OLC Environment, but I don't see OLC Evironment in your mods list. I do see "GWX - 16km Atmosphere with OLC Night Sky Fix" which, if you're running OLC Environment, should not be active.

How do I get the Speedchart to appear?

I can get the drop downs for subnets and convoy routes on the navmap but no speed chart, even though the entry for it is in the "menu_1024_768.ini".

Mouse to the right side of the navmap.

If that doesn't work... are you using the hi-res "fix"?

Meridian 03-19-08 04:30 PM

No, that doesn't work and I am using the Hi-Res fix.

Is there a way to get it to work or does the Hi-Res fix bork it?

Try a lower res (I hear that sometimes fixes things).
As stated on post #1, hi res fix is not supported.

Found it and got it worked out. Thanks!

hi OLC

i'm wondering if you could expalin why you have to subtract 50 degrees when plotting an attack and the ship is moving away from me - i'm learning manual targetting.

i feel that if i understand why soemething is i better understand how to do it.

many thanks

flag4 03-20-08 02:26 PM

thanks Mikhayl

i errr, kind of understand that !

i am on the torpedo training missions at present and struggling with this...

god knows why i dont understand it, it sounds so simple !! and obvious !!

cheers

hi hunters

a couple of questions....

OLC GUI 1.2.3:

1. when roughly calculating speed of ship using number of seconds to pass the cross hairs it sometimes takes 2.5 minutes which means the clock has gone round two and a half times, does this give a true reading where it stops or am i doing something wrong - or should i zoom in making the ship bigger so it passes faster over the cross hairs ( is this clear to any one ??)

2. it is recommended to install v2.0 .Net framework for the OLC GUI 1.2.3. MOD. does this have to be installed to a particular place - or does it find its own 'home' somewhere on the system.

many thanks if you get what i mean !!

You can zoom to whatever level you like, a ship will always pass a fixed wire at the same time. Othewise this would make no sense :P
If it takes more then the time given for 4 knots.. well.. the ship simply moves very slow beyond the scale of the clock. use the alternate method given in the tutorial for the exact speed. If you're in the torpedo training mission you're probably checking the C2 cargo. That one runs at approximately 2 knots so yes, it is very slow and takes longer than the clock indicates

flag4 03-23-08 09:56 AM

thanks Keldorkatarn

i have sussed out the way to work it through the dials, thankyou.

with the New Doulble Mast Figures how does this work now, using the dials. i had just gotten used to the old way and now its updated !!

i feel such a durr, its probably obvious - i just dont see it ?

mlp071 03-23-08 09:48 PM

Very nice work. It is very handy.

wetwarev7 03-25-08 02:18 PM

I know I'm a bit of a latecomer in seeing this mod, but good job!

It's really immpressive!

ichso 03-26-08 10:48 AM

I'm really impressed.
I ever wanted to try out this strange attack wheel but was too lazy to buy stuff and make one
Now it's fully useable in the game, that's even better. And the range and AoB finder is simply an awesome tool.

Till trying this mod I heavily relied on the fast-90° method or just estimated the AoB by experience. But now it's much more fun to get all the needed data.

One question is left though:
I don't know whether to post it here or in the thread of the LRT (Longer Repair Times mod).
I want to use both of them but I'm not sure, whether they are compatible. Because LRT 1.35 says it's compatible to OLC Gui 1.1.7 (or something like this).

Also I'm going to edit the menu_1024...ini in order to make the big dials of 'My_Favourite_Dials' mod available again. I like them better then the small dials on a fixed position (like before on the bottom and now, with OLC GUI, on the left).

hocking 03-26-08 07:56 PM

Why do I sometimes get AOB reading off of the scale?

Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but sometimes when taking an AOB reading I get a number of verticle marks that falls to the left of the scale on the scope. As you know, the scale on the scope starts at 90, and then goes to the right of 90 for the other AOB angle readings. If you get a number that falls to the left of 90, then you don't have any AOB reading to line up with.

What I am doing wrong?
